Airco Home Comfort Services is a Watertown HVAC contractor that says it has been run out of Middlesex County since 1997, under owner Joe and lead installer Steve. Homeowners hire them mainly for furnace, heat pump, and central air installs, along with tankless water heaters and minisplits — the kind of full-system swap that shows up again and again in customer accounts running from 2012 through this year. Across reviews on Google, HomeAdvisor, and Angi, the same specifics repeat: Joe walks people through equipment options and pricing before anything is signed, Steve's crew shows up on time and keeps the job site clean, and several customers credit the company with handling Mass Save rebate paperwork. One condo owner needed the work squeezed into a busy winter with minimal disruption; a homeowner who replaced an oil furnace with a geothermal heat pump said Airco walked them through each phase so there were no surprises. The Better Business Bureau lists an A+ grade and accreditation dating back to 2004. Not every account matches that. A 2024 review from someone who used Airco for a heat pump install through Mass Save says permits were closed slowly and follow-up repair calls went unanswered. A 2026 review describes early problems with a Daikin-thermostat heat pump system installed in late 2023. Both are dated exceptions in an otherwise steady run of installs described as professional, tidy, and on budget. Airco is a strong call for a furnace, heat pump, or whole-system HVAC replacement in the Watertown area — ask up front how post-install service calls and permit closeouts are handled given the two accounts above.
“Joe had been working with Sears for over a decade, managing their window business in Texas and roofing in New England when he transferred into the HVAC division. Steve at Airco was one of his top installers.”
I recently hired Airco Home Comfort Services to upgrade several major systems in my home, including two new furnaces, two AC units, an on‑demand tankless hot water heater, and whole‑house water filters. I couldn’t be happier with the results. Airco completed all the work in a timely, professional manner, and their pricing was excellent. Each system has exceeded my expectations in both performance and efficiency, and the upgrades have truly transformed the comfort and quality of my living space. I highly recommend Airco Home Comfort Services and will absolutely use them again if needed in the future.
Airco (Steve) installed HVAC throughout my home. Answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns that I had. Professional install, timely and his price was competitive. Install was super clean and has been out once to replace a failed capacitor in the compressor.
Quick response, great service. They were able to get my system up and running timely and affordably. I recommend them highly.
Airco Home Comfort Services was great to work with. They were on time, professional, and really knew what they were doing. They made the whole process smooth, answered my questions clearly, and did quality work. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in what they do. Definitely recommend Airco to anyone looking for reliable HVAC service.
We used AirCo for a pump system for heating and cooling back in late 2023 when we moved into our home. While we found Joe helpful with many things, we had issues with the system pretty quickly. A central system was installed upstairs with a Daikin one thermostat. In heat mode the thermostat never heats at the temperature set, it always overshoots by at least 5 degrees in some cases up to 10 degrees. This is really inconvenient. They never had answers or solutions for this and had attitudes when we tried to get them to come back and repair the issue. We finally gave up asking and the 1 year warranty expired. The AC works well enough, though also doesn't have an accurate temperature read, and we use it sparingly. Overall we were left unsatisfied customers which was a shame because we did a lot of research, were excited about the installation, and using the company.
