AirTight Home Services, trading as Air-Tight Weatherization, works out of 50 Rundlett Way in Middleton and covers an unusually wide span for one company: insulation and air sealing, heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical. Google publishes a 4.6-star average across 95 ratings, and 68 reviews are on file going back to 2022. The insulation side is where the record is strongest and most consistent. A June 2025 customer who picked the company from a Mass Save contractor list described a blown-in insulation job run by a crew chief named Andrew: everything covered, the house and grounds left spotless each of three days, workmanship the customer called impeccable. In a 2022 review a homeowner who had closed-cell foam applied to an attic and basement rim joists reported markedly improved blower-door test results and a clean site afterwards; another the same year had insulation removed and spray foam installed and singled out being able to reach the project lead with questions throughout. A 2025 reviewer said the inspector called it the best insulation work he had ever seen. HVAC installation draws similar praise. An August 2025 customer described an oil-to-gas conversion coordinated with National Grid followed by a new indoor and outdoor unit that went in faster than expected. Another had seven mini-splits installed in late spring 2025. A May 2024 customer with a 22-year-old central air system said Air-Tight was thousands cheaper than competitors and, rather than pushing a heat pump conversion that would have meant cutting into every ceiling, reused the original ductwork and replaced only what needed replacing. Service technicians named Rudy and Rodolfo recur through 2024 and 2025 for quick diagnosis and call-backs, including an October 2025 gas-smell call returned the same afternoon and attended the next day. The complaints cluster and are worth reading before you hire. A November 2025 customer said a smart thermostat installation was never completed and the company stopped returning calls after two units failed. A November 2025 furnace install ran a full day, needed a second visit to get the wiring right after a security sensor was bypassed, and left a muddy basement, with the reviewer describing the team lead as rude. Another November 2025 customer said a promised detailed heating-system report never arrived. An October 2025 reviewer said the electrician did not carry out the knob-and-tube inspection the work order specified. And a January 2025 Mass Save customer reported a month to schedule, a last-minute postponement, ladder marks and blown-out drywall, and a Mass Save post-work inspection finding the attic and basement air sealing had not been done correctly. Air-Tight is a sound call for a Massachusetts homeowner doing Mass Save-driven insulation or a planned HVAC install, where its crews consistently perform. For smaller service calls, thermostat or electrical work, get the scope written down, confirm who the crew lead is, and agree in advance when the documentation or report will be delivered.
Rudi was awesome. Very informative and great communication on arrival time!
Excellent service from start to finish! The team was professional, knowledgeable, and truly committed to doing quality work. They took the time to explain everything clearly, worked efficiently, and made sure the job was done right. It’s refreshing to work with a company that takes such pride in their work and treats customers with respect. Thank you!!!
I don't like doing this, but since you won't call me back to complete the job you said you would, the only course of action I have is to leave you a negative review. I requested to have my smart thermostat installed. Someone came out and said the wiring was wrong and fixed it. He plugged in the smart thermostat and it didn't work. After some back and forth the technician promised me that if I bought another one it would work (the other 1 of the exact same model did not work). I was skeptical, but willing to play along. The brand new one didn't work as well. I called AirTight back and was told "I've got you covered, I'll call you later to setup an appointment". He never called, I called a few days later leaving a message with someone for him to call me back. Nothing for a week. I then called again and left a message on voice mail. No call back. So no, you don't have me covered.
The furnace install was just ok. They arrived with a team of people. They took a whole day to have it setup. One of them was very personable, however the team lead was very rude. After installing the furnace they couldn't get it to work correctly on day 1, due to wiring connections and had to bypass the security sensor. I am not sure if it was a lack of knowledge but they came out again another day and finally got it running the proper way. The install day was a little rainy and by the time the team left, my basement was all muddy and I had to mop it out the next day. Since this install was done through CTI, I had not much say in picking a contractor for the installation.
Evaluation of heating systems , asked for a detailed report on what was determined to be the issue! I haven’t received any information as of now ! Tecnitian seems well educated
