AJ Rose Carpets & Flooring is a family-owned Eastern Massachusetts flooring retailer that sells and installs carpet, hardwood and other flooring from several showrooms, including Lynnfield and Needham. A May 2017 fcnews.net article said the company was founded in 1977 and was family-run. Its BBB grade is A+, and its largest Google profile shows 4.8 stars from 446 ratings. In a June 2026 review, a customer said installer Santos walked them through the work and did the stair runner with close attention to detail. August 2026 reviewers praised prompt, friendly installers, one said a new carpet runner helped their son's dog with traction, and another said Patrick and his crew installed luxury vinyl plank and added molding trim they had not expected. Reviewers name salespeople too: an August 2026 customer said Summer spent a lot of time explaining options and discounts, and another said Lyn came to the house to discuss options and measure every room. Some customers describe slow fixes after the sale. In an August 2026 review, a customer who liked the selection and staff said their construction team had waited five months for a fix to an issue with boards shipped in April, with the company blaming its suppliers. In an August 2025 review, a customer who floored a whole house said the delivery ran weeks late, some of the flooring arrived damaged, the sales team advised the wrong stair pieces, which could not be returned, and the company then threatened collections over a billing mix-up. An August 2024 reviewer said woodwork was gouged and several contacts went unanswered. A December 2022 reviewer said the installer on their luxury vinyl plank said it was his first job with that product, and the floor was later failing, with planks separating. In November 2021, one reviewer said two stairs of a runner were installed wrong and three emails had not gotten them fixed, and another said thresholds were left unfinished for weeks and then priced as extra work.

Everything went smoothly and everyone I dealt with was reasonable and professional. The man who installed the carpet did a wonderful job and worked very hard. Well done!
From start to finish this was a great experience with AJ Rose. The sales person let us walk through the showroom, looking at carpet selections without putting any pressure on us or trying to influence our decision. Once we made our selection, it was a smooth process with the proposal, acceptance, and call for installation within days. They were flexible with scheduling and they installers were incredibly efficient and neat. I would definitely go back to AJ Rose for Flooring material
Unfortunately, I’m left with no alternative but to leave a poor review. They have an excellent selection and the store and staff are nice but their customer service after purchase has been horrendous. Our construction team has been waiting 5 months for a solution to an issue with the boards that were shipped to us in April. AJ Rose continues to blame their suppliers slow response times and has not helped resolve the problem. Our general contractor and designer won’t work with them again.
