Nearly 1,300 Google ratings averaging 4.8 is a lot of service calls for one Hooksett shop. Al Terry covers plumbing, heating and cooling out of 1776 Hooksett Road, and its New Hampshire mechanical business entity licence is active, as is the plumber's licence held by Michael J Terry that the registry lists alongside it. What comes through the reviews is bench depth and speed. A homeowner in a panic over a hot water heater in January 2026 had a technician the next morning. In October 2025 another had heat gone but hot water still running; a tech named Casey worked out which control part had failed, bypassed it, and got the heat back for under $200. In November 2024 a family nine weeks into a cold house — eight of those weeks waiting on the company that installed their four-year-old furnace — said Kyle diagnosed and corrected that original bad installation on the scheduled visit. Technicians get named constantly here: Randy, Kyle, Braden, Geoff, Dylan, Warren, Casey, Alex. The recent work spans both trades and then some — an oil-to-gas furnace conversion with the old tank hauled out, a new heating register, an A/C unit replaced in extreme heat, a hundred-year-old septic pipe swapped out this May, ductless mini-split installs, vanity and faucet plumbing. The other side deserves its weight. In April 2026 a customer described a clogged-toilet call where, instead of the flange adjustment the job needed, the toilet was set on a neoprene donut taped down to a cast-iron pipe; the slow leak surfaced about a year later, having soaked the second-floor bathroom subfloor. In December 2025 someone with an emergency toilet backup said the technician lacked the tools or experience to solve it, that it cost $500 anyway, and that another company fixed it. On the last day of 2024, a one-day gas furnace replacement ran to three days and a failed inspection: the venting went somewhere other than where the contract said, the garage ceiling lost its fire rating, and a supervisor's promised repairs never came. A 2023 customer found two of four mini-splits still dirty after a cleaning, with the seam tape on the boiler pipe left unsealed. A 2021 reviewer who rated the work well still said 1.5 hours of winterizing ran past $1,000. Neighbours name them on Reddit: two commenters in a February 2025 New Hampshire thread put Al Terry forward for Manchester-area plumbing, and a 2022 commenter listed two water heaters, two toilets, a bathroom sink and a shower done, calling the company reasonably priced. Its BBB page is an A+ with accreditation. For routine service and the urgent no-heat, no-hot-water calls, this is a deep bench that answers fast. For a larger install, put the venting and anything else that touches code into the contract in writing, and settle who is coming back if the inspection fails — that is where the complaints concentrate.

We recently hired Al Terry for two separate projects, and they exceeded our expectations on both. The first was installing heat in our basement, and the second was converting our furnace from oil to natural gas, which also included removing our old oil tank. Every employee who came to our home was friendly, professional, and courteous throughout the entire process. One person, in particular, truly stood out: Randy. He is an outstanding representative of the company and provided exceptional customer service from start to finish. Randy helped me navigate the financing process with Service Finance. It required a great deal of work on his end, but he went above and beyond to find the best option for us and made the entire process as smooth as possible. We also ran into an issue with the subcontractor hired to remove our oil tank. They repeatedly failed to commit to a removal date and then backed out at the last minute. After I shared my concerns with Randy, he immediately stepped in. He worked with management and arranged for an Al Terry crew to remove the tank on the day we were expecting, despite the subcontractor canceling again. That level of responsiveness and commitment meant a great deal to us. Even after the work was completed, Randy continued to provide outstanding support. I had a few follow-up questions about detectors, and he responded to my text messages promptly and without hesitation. Al Terry is fortunate to have an employee like Randy. He genuinely cares about his customers and consistently goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done right. His dedication and professionalism made a lasting impression on us. We truly appreciate everything Randy and the Al Terry team did for us. Based on our experience, I would not hesitate to use Al Terry again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and exceptional customer service.

As usual the service by Al Terry's team was professional, courteous and expertly done. They installed a new heating register for us and the difference it has made already is amazing. Had heard of Al Terry via neighbors. Had a big job to replace a 100 year old septic pipe. The guys were great 👍. Very professional and clean. Didn't leave us hanging at the end of the days. Would use them again and reference them! Thanks team Terry!
I contacted Al Terry Plumbing to ask about replacing a cast iron pipe, after another local plumbing company was not able to assist me. I met with Randy, who inspected the plumbing in my home and pointed out some additional problems, i.e.: copper piping erosion. This was an extensive job (5 ½ days) involving 2 bathrooms, accessing plumbing by cutting through a closet wall and removing part of the downstairs bathroom ceiling. Evan and Josh were the plumbers and they were top notch. They were very accommodating, keeping me up to date on when the water would be shut off and advised me what was working at the end of each day when they left. For the size of this job (replumbing my whole house except for the water heater and furnace), we had minimal disruptions during the day as they worked both up and downstairs. Evan was great – he was able to remove part of the downstairs bathroom ceiling and replace it when the job was done. Looks like nothing was ever disturbed. Randy assured me they work with a drywall company that would be out as soon as the job was completed to repair the closet wall. The drywall was repaired the day after the plumbing was completed and it looks as good as before they had to open it up. I am extremely satisfied with everything they did. I am also satisfied with the cost of such a large project. I would not hesitate to recommend Al Terry Plumbing, and will use them for any future needs.
