Aldo's HVAC has been run by the Vieira family since Aldo Vieira, a refrigeration mechanic who emigrated from Brazil, founded it in 1996; his son later joined, and Eliane Vieira came on in 2016. The company today is a heat-pump specialist, comfortable retrofitting old Boston-area housing stock as much as running large commercial installs. The strongest pattern in its record is technical problem-solving on hard jobs: a customer with a 100-year-old Arlington house and no existing ductwork got a heat pump routed through the home's existing features rather than bulky new duct runs, and another customer says a competing plumbing company quoted $40,000 to replace an entire HVAC system before Aldo's owner crawled into a dusty crawl space, traced the tubing, and found the actual problem — a single kinked plastic tube. On the commercial side, the company installed HVAC for a four-level, 10,000-square-foot church sanctuary in Boston and was rehired for another large building afterward. That said, the record isn't uniform. One reviewer describes a badly botched installation of five air handlers and three compressors on a new addition — damaged ceilings, ductwork that had to be redone and still came out wrong, and an independent inspection that reportedly called it the worst installation they'd seen. A separate review describes a technician who, facing ductwork hidden behind walls, couldn't diagnose an A/C balancing issue and communicated only through a phone translation app rather than English — and turned out to be wrong about the diagnosis. A few other reviewers report calls and voicemails that went unanswered, and one describes a dispute over what was and wasn't included in a renovation quote. The company holds an active Massachusetts HVAC license and an A+, though non-accredited, Better Business Bureau rating — though the BBB profile states 10 years in business, at odds with the 1996 founding date the company gives on its own site. For a heat pump install or a tricky retrofit in an older home, the specific, detailed accounts here skew heavily positive and describe real technical skill. But the record also includes at least one serious installation complaint and a few responsiveness gaps, so it's worth asking directly about who's supervising a larger job and getting scope spelled out in writing before signing.
“Seems more comfortable with ductwork!”
“I used Aldo's in Medford to install my Heat pump last year.”

I had a great experience with Aldo HVAC installing a heat pump in my office. The team was extremely professional, honest, and knowledgeable from start to finish. They arrived on time, communicated clearly throughout the process, and completed the job exactly as promised. The installation was smooth and well organized, and it’s clear they take pride in their work. I would highly recommend Aldo HVAC to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy HVAC service.
I scheduled a technician visit with Aldo's to diagnose an A/C balancing issue in a new home. (They did not install the system.) The visit was a sham: the technician looked at the A/C unit, didn't see the dampers, and because the ducts were behind the walls, said there was nothing he could do. He communicated this "walls, nothing I can do" using Google Translate on his phone, from (Brazilian) Portuguese to English, because he did not speak any English, not even those words. So he did nothing useful and told me nothing I did not already know. (He was also wrong, it turned out: this kind of residential system, as is apparently common, did not have internal dampers, only vent flaps.) I am refusing to pay the $195 invoice for this waste of everyone's time. (Edit: in response to my feedback, Aldo's offered me a "complimentary preventive maintenance visit," which I declined.)
Aldo's has installed and been maintaining my HVAC system for several years now. They are a great company, very professional and experts at what they do. Very responsive and reliable.
Trustworthy company. Iones came to give me a second opinion on an issue with my HVAC unit. From another large plumbing company, I was quoted a $40k fix to replace the entire system. He came and troubleshot, got into a dusty crawl space, followed the tubing, and found the issue--a kinked plastic tube. NOT THE ENTIRE UNIT. In times when there is price gauging and misinformation, find the people you trust and stay there. Aldo's HVAC has a customer for life.
I have known and worked with Al and his team from Aldo's HVAC for 8 years. I have seen many of their completed projects and have dealt directly with Al, his management team and their technicians. Their quality of workmanship is excellent. They are professional, courteous, attentive, transparent and take great pride in their work. Al Viera the owner is one the most technically knowledgeable guys in the business. Great with high efficiency Heat Pump systems, Mini-splits and conventional heating and cooling systems. They complete their work on time, neatly, professionally and will exceed your expectations. I recently had 3 separate ECOER SDi Heat Pumps and matching ECOER Air Handler systems installed at my house through Al's recommendation and guidance. They are working great! I would strongly recommend Aldo's HVAC for any and all of your HVAC needs.
