Bathrooms are what Alex Construction & Renovation gets hired for, and the satisfied customers tell the same story: demolition through final finishes, finished on the date they were promised. A July 2026 customer described a bathroom remodel completed on time; a February 2024 reviewer had two bathrooms done on time and on budget; and in a February 2023 review, a homeowner remodeling a small house credited the company with handling design, permits, construction, project management and inspections, and handing the place back in move-in condition. The Braintree company says it has been at this for about ten years, and its Thumbtack profile names Alexis Marquez as its background-checked owner. On Google it holds 4.7 stars from 36 ratings, with written accounts going back to 2019 on Google and Thumbtack. The complaints cluster at the front of the job. Three one-star reviewers — in May 2023, March 2024 and February 2025 — describe appointments that did not happen. Two of them waited for a scheduled quote visit that no one showed up for, and one was told the scheduling email had never been checked; the third said they were told on the project's start day that work would begin the next day instead, and that all the trash from the project was left behind. One more thing to settle before signing: the state registry shows the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #208050, as expired. For a bathroom or kitchen remodel by a crew that has done a lot of them, this is a reasonable call — put the start date and the cleanup terms in the contract, agree who to call when the schedule moves, and ask for current registration and proof of insurance before any money changes hands.
We are extremely happy with our bathroom remodel! From demolition to the final finishes, Alex Construction did an amazing job. The project was completed on time, communication was excellent, and the craftsmanship was outstanding. We would definitely hire them again.
I was impressed with my initial interaction with Alex construction and renovation. They provided exactly what they promised to complete. I hired them for a second project and they surpassed my expectations on the quality of work. I will use them again in the future for other projects.
My aunt hired this company to remodel her kitchen, and the result was incredible. The quality of the materials, attention to detail, and professionalism of the team made all the difference. I loved the modern and functional design they achieved, especially how well they utilized the space. Without a doubt, I would recommend them to anyone looking to renovate their home with well-executed work. They met my aunt’s expectations, and everything was done exactly as stated in the contract.
If you like your contractor to start a project on time, provide communication or do what they were supposed to do as per the project, DO NOT hire them. Was told on the start day of the project that they will start the next day. They left all the trash from our project in our backyard (what kind of contractor doesn't even have use of a dumpster to take the trash out???) Constant issues with communication, multiple times I reach out but no communication until over a day later. Didn't even initially quote us for what I asked for (what does a complete gut job mean to you? Because to them, it doesn't mean complete demo). The additional costs for this "addition" was paid, but the work on that proposal wasn't complete. Stating and demanding payment was due before the due date, when we are asking you to complete the job that was completely paid for. We don't even want them to complete the job because the experience has been so bad. While the bathroom looks good on sight, further inspection will show details that have been messed up. Stripped paint, placement of accessories being wrong, stains and spots on the tile that won't come off. Hopefully everything else stays in tact. Not to mention the complete disregard for other parts of the house when demolishing the walls. I've never worked with a contractor that didn't cover up doorways so the dust stays contained. Not to mention the team busted holes in the wall of the 2 bedrooms that share a wall with the bathroom.
Scheduled a consultation and quote, received confirmation email and then they didn’t show, no communication. When called to see if they were running late was told by the woman she never checked her email for scheduling. Took time off work to be here waiting for the appointment. They don’t see to care or value your time. The woman is rude, look elsewhere.
