When a homeowner moved into a new house in 2024, they had Alex Melendez install an exterior door where none had existed before, along with several other improvement jobs, and wrote that October that they could not be more satisfied with the results. The second customer, writing the same month, called him an honest, hard-working contractor and listed what he takes on: carpentry, painting, roofing, waterproofing, light fixtures, masonry, kitchen cabinets and tile work. That range is the point of a home services outfit, and it is also the thing to pin down before hiring, because a door opening and a tiled bathroom are different trades. Both reviews are from October 2024 and appear on Angi and HomeAdvisor, which each show 5.0 from two ratings. The platforms' own service lists are narrower than what the customers describe: interior painting and staining, sorted by room count. A reasonable call for a punch list on a new house around Everett, from doors and painting to tile and small carpentry. Ask which trades he does himself, whether he pulls permits for structural openings, and get the scope written down job by job.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Alex Melendez Home Services. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

Review for Alex Meléndez Home Services I recently hired Alex Meléndez Home Services for several home improvement projects at my new house and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. The work included: Installing an exterior door where none existed before. Installing new kitchen cabinets and a backsplash. Painting the interior of my house and all the exterior doors. Replacing the bathroom floor. Installing patio railings. Installing an exhaust fan for the bathroom. Installing a new storm door. From start to finish, everything was handled with great professionalism and attention to detail. Communication was clear throughout the entire process, and I was kept updated regularly. The expertise in each aspect of the project, from the cabinet installation to the precise paint job, was impressive. The quality of work exceeded my expectations, and the improvements have made a noticeable difference to my home. The new exterior door and other features have significantly enhanced the appearance, and the bathroom exhaust has improved ventilation. I highly recommend Alex Meléndez Home Services to anyone looking for reliable and skilled professionals for home improvements. The results were excellent, and I would not hesitate to hire them again for future projects.
