Almeida General Construction Inc

One customer wrote in August 2020 that they had been working with Almeida General Construction for over 14 years — home repairs at first, then a full emergency basement re-do, then gutting and building out a 5,000 square foot retail location, with roof repair and help clearing snow off roofs after that. Isaias Almeida — Izzy, in the reviews — runs the company out of 9 Osgood St in Lawrence. Roofs come up more than once. A homeowner writing in August 2020 had leaks fixed and said six months had gone by without a problem since. Back in November 2016, a customer hired him for custom cabinetry and described being walked through the whole process: on time, on budget, no surprises. Another August 2020 customer singled out his honesty through an important renovation. Those accounts are older ones, written between 2016 and 2020. Google shows 5 stars across 6 ratings, and 30 permitted projects are filed under the company's name. One thing to settle first. The company's Massachusetts construction supervisor licence, CS-098737, is active on the state registry, but its home improvement contractor registration, #181936, has expired. Ask where that registration stands before you sign for work on your home. For a roof repair, a basement rebuild or a buildout where one contractor carries the whole job, this is the range he has been hired across — one client kept coming back for more than 14 years. Get the scope and the price in writing, and ask for a reference from a recent project.
