Amherst Excavating says it has been in business for 12 years. Its website lists a service area of Amherst, Belchertown, Hadley, South Hadley, Northampton and Ludlow. A recent customer had an old septic system replaced, a job with quite a bit of digging; that customer said they showed up when they said they would, installed the new septic system and took care of the cleanup afterward. Another recent customer had an ADU put in at a Belchertown property and said Amherst Excavating handled the site work: digging for the foundation, the concrete work for the ADU and a new front walkway, a new driveway, and new sewer and water lines, then topsoil and hydroseeding. A recent customer who interviewed several local excavation companies before hiring this one said Tyler completed a big job in a matter of a few weeks, which that customer called unexpected given the scope of the project. A 2025 customer said a chunk of land was removed to fill in a driveway with a stone wall and walkway/stairs, and that Tyler also helped with lawn mowing. A 2024 customer said they had done multiple jobs for that customer.
