Amo Realty — Boston City Properties is a Boston brokerage built around a handful of individual agents, and one name comes up again and again in its reviews: Courtney Wood, credited across more than a dozen reviews with fielding calls at all hours and running an urgent apartment search until a lease was signed. The company says it opened its first office, Boston City Properties, in Boston in 2007, and works residential sales, apartment rentals, and commercial tenant representation across Greater Boston. On Google, the brokerage holds 4.9★ across 341 ratings. The reviews quoted here span 2021 through mid-2025 and tell a consistent story about a short list of agents: renters moving cross-country or on short notice describe Courtney Wood chasing down listings, coordinating showings on tight timelines, and staying in touch through the whole search, in one case signing a lease the same day she was first contacted (2022 review). Adam Parady draws similar praise from tenants and from a landlord who used him to find renters for a condo, credited with being responsive and advocating for clients against competing applicants (2024 review). The experience is not uniform across the agency's roster, though. A 2024 reviewer described a broker who did little to help after a rented unit arrived in far worse condition than advertised, leaving the tenant to force the property manager to fix it. A 2023 review described a hostile, pressured experience with an agent named Laurent Plaisimond around a lease handover, and a 2025 reviewer reported repeated unsolicited marketing emails from an agent named Patrick Reagan despite asking him to stop. None of that reflects on Wood or Parady specifically, but it's worth confirming which agent you'll actually be working with. For an apartment search that needs someone actively pushing on your behalf, the reviews point squarely toward Courtney Wood or Adam Parady by name — worth asking for one of them directly, and worth checking who you're assigned if it isn't.
I don't know how or why they got my email address since I live in NH and have NEVER shown any interest in Boston real estate! After receiving NINE emails from Patrick Reagan (without a response from me), one would think the guy would give up. If I receive ONE more, your company will be reported to the BBB for harassment. So cease & desist!
In 15 years of renting, I have never had a broker half as good as Courtney Wood. She was extraordinarily transparent and communicative, and we always felt like we had all the relevant information as soon as it became available (24/7 communication!). We faced a difficult move because of a family emergency and pet restrictions, but Courtney advocated for us non-stop until we found we the perfect apartment. She was truly invested in us finding a good home and had our backs throughout the process. By the end of our journey it felt like she was our friend as well as our broker. I cannot recommend Courtney Wood highly enough. Thank you for everything, Courtney!
I have been working with Courtney W. throughout the Boston, MA lease process, and I could not speak more highly of my experience. Courtney is honest, reliable, and puts her clients first. She was able to help my partner and me find our perfect apartment that checks all of our boxes. I highly recommend working with Courtney to find your perfect home in Boston!
Courtney Wood is incredible! So attentive, kind, and helpful. I would highly recommend her and BCP/AR!
A broker helped us find an apartment sight unseen because we were moving across the country. The lease we rented while using BSC as our broker representative ended up not being as advertised and was delivered to us in terrible condition. Our broker did almost nothing to help us. They said they had never seen a unit delivered in such bad condition and would ask their coworkers for advice. And then we never heard from the BSC broker again. I ended up doing all the legwork to force our new property manager (not a BSC property) to bring the unit up to code by doing all my own work to figure out what Massachusetts laws were being broken, contact the city code enforcement about violations, and get in touch with tenant legal aid groups. Our broker didn't even point us in a direction that would help and simply stopped talking to us. I don't believe our broker provided us services that would justify their fee, so I would not use BSC again.
