Read Appleton Kitchens' reviews in order and you watch a handover happen. Everything written between 2017 and 2019 is about Dave — David Harrow, the owner BBB names — and all three Google reviews since December 2024 are about Liam. Same Westwood shop, same 1200 East Street address, a different name on the job. What the shop sells is design and cabinetry. Houzz lists kitchen design, custom kitchen cabinets, vanities, pantries, countertops, drafting and 3D rendering, with a typical job between $5,000 and $75,000 — the range of a cabinet package and its installation rather than a gut renovation. The older reviews are unusually specific about that design work. A March 2018 customer described a small condo kitchen reorganised into real storage with everything still reachable. In January 2018 a homeowner whose husband is a contractor said the cabinets arrived labelled in boxes and laid out to match the plans, and he built from those plans without a hitch. An October 2017 buyer of fifteen-plus years said the plans and the deliveries landed on time, every time. Watch who is writing, though. A stone fabricator, an architect and repeat cabinet buyers account for a good share of the Houzz set. That is trade confidence, which counts for something, but it is not a homeowner describing their own renovation. Two loose ends. The tenure story doesn't line up: the company's own site says "Since 1990", Houzz says 30 years in the field, and BBB records a 1 January 2007 business start and 19 years. And that site is a slideshow — no services, no service area, no credentials — so everything a homeowner can actually check sits on the directories. If you want a designed kitchen with cabinetry supplied and installed, this is a small shop — BBB records three employees — with a long list of Boston-area towns served and a Houzz-rated 4.9 behind it. Ask who will run your project, Dave or Liam, and get the cabinet brand, the lead time and the installation scope in writing.
