AVA Tree Service takes down and prunes trees, and on its website it describes working around utilities, gardens, pools and outbuildings while minimizing turf damage. The company says it has been in business 10 years and lists a service area of Stowe, Waterbury, Elmore, Hyde Park, Johnson, Worcester, Wolcott and Hardwick. A recent Google customer said it removed a large tree close to the house that required climbing and segmental takedown, plus a few trees that could be felled normally. A customer who hired Steve and his team for three big trees and stump grinding wrote that it was hard to tell serious equipment had been there for a couple days. A 2023 customer said AVA performed several large-scale tree removal projects at their Stowe home, one of which required a crane to remove two massive trees hanging over the house, and that the work was completed at or below the estimated cost. A 2024 customer said Steve came out to look at a cracked tree in the yard, had his crew there within a week and took down the dead tree. A 2025 customer said Steve and his team toured the garden on arrival, shared pruning suggestions and left no trace of cut limbs or twigs. A 2023 customer said Steve walked the property, pointed out what was pressing and what was not, and, after finishing the agreed work more quickly than anticipated, recommended additional work to fill out a one-day fee. A 2022 customer said removing many hundreds of small-to-medium trees around their cabin re-exposed the topography. A 2021 customer said Steve had the equipment to reach trees in a hard-to-reach spot that were blocking the mountain view from their condo. A local news site has reported that Steve Rocha of AVA Tree Service cut down a massive silver maple on Park Street that had been held up by as many as seven cables. On Google it holds a 5-star average from 31 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+.
“The massive silver maple on Park Street, held up by as many as seven cables in recent years, was cut down by Steve Rocha of AVA Tree Service.”
Fantastic service from advice and estimate to meticulous execution to post job clean-up. Removed a large tree close to the house that required climbing and segmental takedown as well as a few trees that could be felled normally.
Steve and his team just finished up a job at my house that involved 3 big trees and stump grinding. I've cut my own trees for years, but these were not DIY, if you know what I mean... I'm so very impressed with their punctuality, quality of work and obvious desire to go the extra mile. Not only did they do what they said they would do, they did more. They took care to work thoughtfully and with minimal blemishes to the lawns... its hard to even tell that there was some serious equipment here for a couple days. There are several choices of Tree services in the area, but why take chances when you can just start with the Best? Call AVA Tree Service today.
Steve and his team have taken care of the trees, big and small, on our property for years. Sometimes they are rescuing us from the destruction of giant fallen limbs; sometimes they are preventing such occurrences, and sometimes they are artful collaborators in the pruning of trees within a garden context. They are unfailingly friendly, knowledgable, careful and dependable; and always leave the trees better off. Highest recommendation.
Ava Tree Service does exceptionally thorough work. Steve is very knowledgeable about a wide variety of trees. He and his team tour the garden on arrival and then share their suggestions for pruning. They work carefully and efficiently. Everything looks much better after their visit, and there is no trace of cut limbs or twigs left behind. On top of their great work, their fees are very reasonable.
Steve and his crew were very professional and courteous. I came upon a tree in my yard that was cracked and appeared to be a danger to not only my property but my neighbors. Steve came out, analyzed the situation and had his crew here within a week and did an amazing job, taking down the dead tree. I’m very grateful and very thankful for their service and recommend them 100%.
