Steve is the company. Across four years of Angi reviews for Bay State Painting & Power Washing in Peabody, customers write about him by first name — he gives the quote, he's on the ladder — and a June 2026 reviewer named him outright as Steve Dietrich. He tells Angi he has 28 years behind him. The work people describe is mostly paint, and mostly interior. An April 2025 customer had a full house interior done: wall writing, drywall damage, peeling paint and open seams all fixed first, with colour and sheen advice along the way. Another April 2025 job drew notes about progress photos and intricate trim in an older home. Outside, a September 2023 customer credited careful clapboard preparation, and a June 2023 job ran power washing, sanding, priming and painting across the house, deck and new shutters, plus a replaced gutter and roof flashing. Speed and price come up constantly. A March 2026 customer described a transparent estimate, options explained, a next-day start and a timely finish. Seven of the reviews on file were posted in the last six months, none of them negative. The thing to weigh is capacity. In July 2024 a customer rated the job 2 stars: she says he arrived without the helper he had promised, brought a small ladder for a three-storey house, complained throughout, finished about three-quarters of it, then went quiet for a week before saying he couldn't get anyone over there. That is one account among forty ratings and two years old — but it is the exact shape of the risk with a one-man-plus-helpers shop, where a big exterior is a different animal from a hallway. A July 2025 customer, otherwise happy, said end-of-project cleanup could have been better. Two practical notes before you call. Angi shows a Lead-certified badge on the profile, which is the directory's claim rather than anything checked against a registry. And a June 2026 customer mentioned the company doesn't take credit cards. For a room, a stairwell, a fence, a deck or a power wash, the four-year run of reviews is steady and the recent ones are uniformly positive. For a large exterior, pin down in writing how many people will be on site, how many days it should take, and what cleanup at the end covers.
Steve was friendly. He laid out the cost beyond labor. He removed rust and painted all the surfaces with rust oleum for a smooth finish and the chairs which are from my family and they have special meanings for me. He did not use electrostatic method which would have had extra costs, as I noted to put extras on whatever electrostatic is and I do not want to prefer to pay that. I went prostatic so he did a good job with the spray painting so it was very well done. He spray painted all the surfaces with rust oleum for a smooth finish. I signed it with JAJ and the reading MA.
Thank you for the great work. I wish they took credit cards though
Steve and his team were awesome! We had a fence installed that needed to be painted. Steve was really quick to stop by to get us a quote, and the job was done about a week after we confirmed with him. We are really happy with the finished project and will definitely hire them again fir future painting work.
I was pleased with Steve Dietrich. He did a good job so did his coworker
Beautiful job paining our hallways and stairwells (with very high ceilings). Very happy with the results and can't wait to do another room in the near future.
