Foxrock Painting is a Newton outfit built for the whole job, not just the paint: across a 95-review, five-year record spanning Google, Angi, Houzz and BBB, its most-repeated story isn't color choice — it's what the crew does before the brush ever comes out. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is verified active, and it carries an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. That prep-first reputation shows in the specifics. In a June 2026 review, a homeowner describes the crew power-washing away decades of grime and scraping lead-based paint into tarps over three days before priming ever started. In a 2024 review, an owner of a 19th-century wooden Victorian describes a "delicate" scraping process followed by a carpenter replacing damaged trim and siding — the kind of remedial carpentry (rotted window frames swapped for PVC trim, damaged clapboard repaired, deck boards replaced) that turns up across dozens of reviews, on six-unit Victorian condos and single-family homes alike. The recent record keeps the same shape: 9 reviews in the last six months, all positive, describing tight-timeline jobs finished on schedule, a red house's paint matched with the right finish for direct sun exposure, and a two-story repaint that included carpentry on several rotted surfaces. Project manager Gordon Haughton comes up by name in review after review — daily check-ins, an itemized quote before work starts, and being upfront when extra carpentry adds to the cost. The company also takes on larger, multi-unit work: a South Boston condo association job that replaced rotted window frames and clapboard, and a six-unit Queen Anne Victorian condo project that combined exterior painting with light carpentry and color selection for a whole building. Crews are described cleaning up daily — vacuuming, putting materials away, and in one case taking care not to damage a client's garden beds while working. Nothing in the record runs against that pattern — no complaint, dispute, or mixed review shows up anywhere across five years and six review platforms. For an older home that needs real prep work alongside the paint job, or a multi-unit building coordinating one contractor for both trades, this is a well-documented, licensed operation to call.
Exceptional service from Foxrock Painting. Quick free estimate. Easy and timely scheduling. Excellent painting job on 2 story house including carpentry work on several rotted or broken surfaces. Respectful and careful of property. Excellent communication throughout. Transformed the look of our house - started getting compliments from neighbors before job was even done. Highly recommended.
Foxrock transformed my home's exterior from an absolute mess to a marvelous sight to behold. They started by power washing away decades of grime and algae, followed by 3 days of methodically scraping lead-based paint into tarps for disposal before getting to the priming and painting. In addition to the brass tacks execution, Gordon was kind enough to help me select of color for my shutters (the picture is of him holding up a shutter against my house. He and the painting crew were also very professional, conscientious and neat. They put away their equipment every night, taking up as little space as possible. Highly recommend them!
I had Foxrock paint the inside and selected parts of the exterior this Spring. Great crew, beautiful work, courteous, friendly and respectful. Overall an outstanding outcome, I was very happy and satisfied with the work.
Foxrock painted the exterior of my house. Great experience all around. Professional deal with upfront and throughout the project. Competitive on price and quality was excellent. Would certainly recommend.
Foxrock painters did a fantastic job painting our first floor. The crew was always on time, worked hard all day and did an excellent job repairing and painting the walls and trim, all in three days! Gordon helped us make the plans and choose the colors ahead of time and the crew came in and seamlessly carried out the plan. I highly recommend Foxrock Painting!
