Foxrock Painting turns up in reviews for the kind of job most painters shortcut: this June, one homeowner describes a crew that spent three full days scraping decades of lead-based paint off a house before ever opening a can of primer. That's the sort of prep work that either gets skipped or gets talked about, and here it gets talked about. Foxrock is a family-owned painting company based in Newton, MA. The company says on its own site that its story goes back about 35 years under founder Jeff Haughton, though its Angi profile separately lists the business at 9 years of experience — worth asking about directly if a long track record matters to you. Either way, the review volume backs a company that's been doing this a while: 96 reviews since 2021 across six different sites. The last six months alone brought nine reviews and zero complaints. Beyond the lead-paint job, recent customers describe a two-story exterior repaint with carpentry repairs to rotted and broken trim, a first-floor interior job finished in three days with the colors planned out ahead of time, and a five-day interior repaint for a family that had just bought the house. Gordon's name comes up constantly as the point of contact who plans colors, sets the schedule, and checks in — reviewers mention him directly rather than just "the crew." Its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license (#191407) is active and verified with the state, and BBB gives the company an A+ grade, though Foxrock isn't a BBB-accredited business — that's a separate paid membership BBB runs, not a mark against the work. Its Houzz listing is thin by comparison: just two ratings there, so the Google and Angi history (146 and 67 ratings respectively, both perfect fives) carries more weight. Foxrock reads like the call for a full exterior repaint or a multi-room interior job where prep quality actually matters — the lead-paint and rotted-trim work suggest they don't rush past the parts that are easy to hide. Before booking, it's worth asking which of the two tenure claims is accurate and getting Gordon's estimate in writing; the work itself has a long, consistent trail behind it.

Exceptional service from Foxrock Painting. Quick free estimate. Easy and timely scheduling. Excellent painting job on 2 story house including carpentry work on several rotted or broken surfaces. Respectful and careful of property. Excellent communication throughout. Transformed the look of our house - started getting compliments from neighbors before job was even done. Highly recommended.

Foxrock transformed my home's exterior from an absolute mess to a marvelous sight to behold. They started by power washing away decades of grime and algae, followed by 3 days of methodically scraping lead-based paint into tarps for disposal before getting to the priming and painting. In addition to the brass tacks execution, Gordon was kind enough to help me select of color for my shutters (the picture is of him holding up a shutter against my house. He and the painting crew were also very professional, conscientious and neat. They put away their equipment every night, taking up as little space as possible. Highly recommend them!

Foxrock painters did a fantastic job painting our first floor. The crew was always on time, worked hard all day and did an excellent job repairing and painting the walls and trim, all in three days! Gordon helped us make the plans and choose the colors ahead of time and the crew came in and seamlessly carried out the plan. I highly recommend Foxrock Painting!
