Baywall Painting describes itself as a residential and commercial painting service based out of Greenwich, CT, serving Fairfield County since 1959. A recent Google customer who had used Mark and Matt to paint their houses in Greenwich, inside and out, asked Mark to quote a daughter's apartment in NYC; that customer said his price was 1/3 of the NYC contractor's, and that the team worked with Farrow & Ball paint when no equivalent color turned up in another brand. A recent customer had four bedrooms painted and said the team helped with paint selection and was accurate with its estimate for when the job would be completed. A customer from Riverside said crew leader Jimmy took down curtains, sanded, painted and re-hung the curtains all in one day, and repaired a few holes. On Google it holds 3.9 stars from 9 ratings, and Houzz shows 5.0 stars from 4 ratings. A 2025 Google customer wrote that in 2024 the owner, Mark, gave verbal confirmation that the quote would be the max price, then revised the estimate after painting started to over triple the original, based on the cost of paint. That 2025 customer said the paint job was inconsistent and needed several rounds of touch-ups, with Matt himself coming to repaint a molding. A 2023 Google customer said the painters left puddles of paint and drips, the lines were uneven, and the finish on dark teal dining room walls came off when wiped with a slightly damp cloth. That 2023 customer said the painters came back to correct some mistakes when requested, and that the job took a year to finish. A 2024 customer said Baywall handled interior painting, floors and general contracting projects for them. A 2022 customer said the job was completed ahead of schedule. In a 2017 Houzz review, a customer said Baywall did kitchen and bathroom painting and deck work over a 2 day period. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0642945, held by Baywall Painting, as inactive after a change to the legal entity.
We used Mark and Matt to paint our houses in Greenwich, CT. Inside and out over the years. When my daughter bought an apartment this summer in NYC and got an outrageous quote to paint I asked Mark for a quote. His price was 1/3 of the NYC contractor and he and his team did an exceptional job. From start to finish, and even clean up, it was done perfectly. They had great ideas when we struggled and worked well with the Farrow & Ball paint when we couldn’t find an equivalent color in another brand. I trust them and know the work is high quality.
We had Baywall Painting paint four bedrooms in our home, and they all came out great. The team was incredibly helpful throughout the paint selection process and made choosing the right colors much easier. They were professional, on time, and—most importantly for us—accurate with their estimate for when the job would be completed. We were working with a tight schedule, so being able to rely on their timeline was essential. We’re very happy with the finished work and would highly recommend Baywall Painting. We’ll definitely be using them again for future projects.
Matt Bawol is knowledgable and honest. He knows a lot about color schemes, paint quality and the different kinds of paints to use for different surfaces. His crew leader Jimmy was also excellent. We gave him a lot of work and Jimmy took down curtains, sanded, painted, re-hung curtains all in one day and repaired a few holes. Very neat and tidy. They have been around for many years and I would recommend them to anyone. Mike, Riverside CT
I had a poor experience with Baywall in June 2024. The owner Mark gave me his verbal confirmation that the price of their quote would be the max price and that he was familiar with Farrow & Ball paints. AFTER they started painting, he revised the estimate based on the cost of paint to over triple the cost of the original estimate. It felt like a bait-and-switch, and I would have walked if they hadn’t already started, super awkward. On top of that, the paint job was very inconsistent, requiring several round of touch ups finally Matt himself coming to repaint an entire molding they had left really messy. It was an expensive and extremely disappointing job all around.
We used Baywall for interior painting, floors, and numerous general contracting projects. Mark and his team are FANTASTIC. They are reliable, priced fairly, complete projects quickly, and their work and craftsmanship are unmatched. I have recommended this company to all my friends and family in the area and we will continue to use them for projects going forward.
