Better Built Kitchens and Bathrooms takes on whole-floor renovations, kitchens and finished basements. One recent customer had the family room, living room, kitchen, dining room, powder room and hallways redone, with the office sending in plumbers, electricians, painters and cabinet installers in turn, and says it finished on the promised date. The company says it has been in business 18 years. Another recent job combined a small kitchen, hallway and butler's pantry into one space with a large custom island, plus a mudroom with custom cabinets, ski lockers and a fireplace mantle. A recent basement customer describes a living room area, a gym, a golf simulator area and a wet bar with green cabinets. A recent homeowner says Randy came out about heat tape for an ice-dam issue and suggested checking the attic insulation and soffit ventilation first instead of selling the installation. A 2026 customer who hired the company for new kitchen cabinets said an installer came back with the wrong sink and the contracted sink had to be ordered. That customer said they took the display sink home and had it installed, paid for a new sink, and heard nothing from the salesperson afterward. A 2025 customer said the company ordered a bathroom mirror too large for the wall and could not return it, so they bought another at their own expense. In 2022, a post on r/Connecticut said "Better Built Baths and Kitchens" was threatening to sue over an online review. A 2022 Google reviewer warned that the company may try to sue customers who post a negative review. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0674237, as active, held by BETTER BUILT KITCHENS AND BATHROOMS.
“don't hire a company that threatens/sues the client.”
“I signed three contracts, one for each bathroom being remodeled, all on the same day. Each bathroom was its own project. On each contract I specified “no lock box” on the front door.”
“You can also google and review Better Built Baths & Kitchens, but watch out they might try suing you lol”
“Search on Google and look through their reviews.”
“Eric is probably the Better Built Kitchens guy’s brother-in-law.”
Randy and the team were great. They were creative in the design of our bar and the type space it was so we were able to fit everything! Would highly recommend!
We recently had our basement finished by Better Built Basements, and the whole experience was great. The process was seamless from blueprinting and picking out materials all the way through install and the finishing touches. They set up several distinct spaces for us: a living room area, a gym, a golf simulator area, and a wet bar with a fridge — the green cabinets turned out beautifully. Both countertops, the one at the wet bar and the one behind our sofa, came out absolutely beautiful and really gave the whole space a grounded, put-together feel. The floors look great too, and the overall craftsmanship was excellent. This space has already become such a great part of our home — perfect for working out, watching football, and just hanging out as a family. We'd definitely recommend Better Built Basements if you're considering a basement remodel. Thanks for the great work!
I had a great experience with Randy from Better Built Builders. He came out to my property after being recommended through our local Facebook community to evaluate whether installing heat tape along my roof and gutters would help with an ice-dam issue. What impressed me most was his honesty and transparency. Randy easily could have recommended the installation and charged me for the work, but instead he took the time to explain that heat tape might not address the underlying problem. He suggested that I first investigate my attic insulation and soffit ventilation, since restricted airflow could be contributing to the issue. He was also upfront about the ongoing electrical cost of heat tape and the fact that it still might not completely solve the problem. I really appreciated that he was more focused on helping me find the right solution than selling me a service. That kind of integrity goes a long way. I kept his card and will absolutely be reaching out to Randy and Better Built Builders for future electrical, remodeling, basement, kitchen, bathroom, or general contracting needs. It’s refreshing to work with someone who genuinely looks out for the homeowner. Highly recommend Randy and his team!
Everything looks beautiful after redoing the kitchen and half bath on main floor including refinishing all of the flooring on the main floor.
We hired Better Built to finish our basement and as part of this renovation, they installed a wet bar area. They had plenty of samples from all price ranges to look through and the renderings were very helpful in finalizing the look so we knew what the final product would look like. Their work was truly impeccable, from the cabinetry to the drywall, painting, and full bathroom installation. As we enjoy the space now, there is not one unfinished detail! We subsequently hired them again to remodel our kitchen and that project surpassed our expectations as well. I can confidently recommend Better Built to anyone looking to make sure their project is perfect!
