Better Homes by Marc is a one-person painting operation run by Marc Sarantis out of Westford since 1992 — 34 years now — and the standout in its written record is a 2019 job that wasn't really about paint at all: a truck crashed into a customer's home, damaging the foundation, interior walls, windows and a basement floor, and Marc's crew handled the entire repair on the timeline he'd promised, leaving the foundation 'looking better than before the accident.' Most of the rest of the record is straightforward interior and exterior painting — a same-week deck power-wash, stain and repaint in 2018, an interior paint job in 2020 praised for responsiveness and flexibility — and a few reviewers name specific crew members, Matt, Ed and Dan alongside Marc himself, describing them as fast, neat, and easy to schedule around. In a 2015 review, a homeowner in an 1835 historic house described cracked ceilings 'made new again' and workers who accommodated a holiday-season schedule. The written reviews run from 2013 to 2020 (22 on file), almost entirely five-star, though a few carry a real caveat: in a 2016 review one customer called the work excellent but 'a bit too expensive,' a 2014 review flagged 'some minor quality issues' despite being happy overall, and a 2013 review described 'some miscommunication during the process' that got resolved by the end of the job. None describe anything close to a bad outcome — the complaints are about price or process, not the finished work. On HomeAdvisor, the company carries a 4.8 average across 54 ratings and is EPA Certified; its BBB file (unaccredited) shows an A+ rating with no complaints on record. Its own listing describes itself as a full home-improvement contractor beyond just paint — carpentry, drywall, tile, flooring, cleanouts and kitchen/bath work — though the reviewed jobs skew heavily toward painting and the one large storm-damage repair. This fits a straightforward interior or exterior paint job, or — based on the one detailed account — a contractor worth calling if storm or accident damage needs both cosmetic and structural fixing. Given a couple of reviewers flagged cost, it's worth getting a firm number up front.

Great company fabulous work, price and people will definitely use again and recommend to friends and neighbors
Highly recommend. Had interior painting done. Great customer service and quality work. Great to work with, responsive, flexible and just nice to work with. Will hire again!
I highly recommend this company. A truck smashed into our home (multiple damages, foundation, walls, windows, floor) and I had the recommendation to call Marcs company, I am so happy I/we did!! He and his crew handled everything, they repaired the foundation (looks better than before the accident), the interior walls were crack, widows were misaligned, the basement floor needed support, etc. Marc got everything done (also at the timeline he stated)!!! they were at the job site when they said, there was little to no disruption to my family, they cleaned everything when they finished, I hope we never have a car damage our home again but if it does I will definitely call Marcs company: Better Homes
Power washed, stained new deck and repainted old deck. WOek was done same week I hired! Friendly, experienced and professional job done beyond expectations. It is so nice to find quality and value. Will definitely hire again.
