In a September 2019 Houzz review, a client who was living in London while building in Vermont described Birdseye bringing a basic 'Modern Barn' concept to life, then contracting with the construction side of the business as well. The Richmond company describes itself on BuildZoom as an architecture and building company established in 1984, and on Houzz as an architecture studio specializing in custom residential design. Houzz lists AIAVT awards from 2004 through 2015. In a June 2014 Houzz review, a client described a lakefront home at Shelburne Point designed by architect Brian Mac and built by a team of craftsmen from Birdseye Building. In a November 2013 Houzz review, a farm client wrote of three projects since 2007 — a storage barn turned guest house, a design/build main house, barns and equipment sheds, a processing pavilion and major sitework including two ponds, a well, irrigation and a septic mound — and said Birdseye followed up after each project. A July 2013 Houzz reviewer and their husband renovated 3 homes, a cottage and built a barn with Birdseye Building Company, citing punctual contracting and accurate invoicing. In November 2013 a Houzz reviewer wrote that Birdseye designed a restaurant space in a 150 year old building in downtown Burlington. In July 2023 an r/vermont commenter wrote that they had worked with Birdseye on multi million dollar houses and called the company "cream of the crop." In January 2026 one r/vermont commenter called Silver Maple and Birdseye high end builders for whom "reasonable price is not an option"; another commenter the same day recommended both for "very reasonable prices." BuildZoom lists Vermont architect licence 003.0002166 for the company. Houzz shows 5.0 stars from 7 ratings, Google 4.6 from 11, and the BBB grade is A+.
