Luccas is named in more than a dozen of the reviews of Black Ladder Group, usually attached to a roof and a phone that gets answered. The Milford company works across MetroWest, and the jobs people describe cover the range of what a roof needs: shingle, rubber and metal — a 2025 customer had all three on one house — plus gutters, skylights, ventilation, and the rotted fascia nobody finds until the old roof comes off. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. The company's site says it has worked MetroWest as a roofing and exterior contractor since 2019, family-owned and owner-operated, and lists construction supervisor licence CSL 116010 along with Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, VELUX Certified Installer and James Hardie Installer credentials. Cleanup comes up in ten of these reviews. A 2023 customer singled out the hundreds of nails collected out of the yard; another in 2023 said the crew protected the area and cleaned up when they finished; a 2025 customer said the roof went on with care for the plants and shrubs around the house. A March 2025 customer got photos as the work went along, showing which step the crew had reached. Leaks get fast attention. A Thumbtack reviewer in May 2025 wrote that Carlos came the next day and rigged a temporary fix to keep rainwater off the ceiling before a weekend of rain, and a July 2025 customer had an attic leak looked at. In January 2025 a homeowner needed an old roof replaced quickly, before winter and for insurance eligibility, and had the gutters replaced and new ones added at the same time; the proposal came itemized. A May 2024 job in Cambridge took the roof and a skylight, turned up rotting fascia and replaced it, and finished with the clerestory windows cleaned. Price draws its own comments — clear about costs before starting in a June 2023 review, very fairly priced in a January 2023 one, and an August 2026 customer who wrote that they never felt upsold. The one snag anyone has written down is a scheduling hiccup on a May 2023 job, which that customer said Luccas sorted out quickly and fairly. Two of the company's own claims don't match BBB: the site advertises BBB A+ Accreditation while BBB's profile shows the business as non-accredited with no rating, and the site's 2019 start date sits against the four years in business BBB lists. Neither touches the roofing itself, but raise them if credentials matter to you. The right call for a full replacement or a leak you need seen this week, especially if you want the yard clean when the truck leaves. Get the itemized proposal, and settle up front what happens if rot turns up under the old shingles.
