Blue Ribbon Lawn Care, run by Tim out of Berlin, MA, has two written reviews on file, one from each end of the spectrum. Google shows 3.7 stars from three ratings. In a 2015 review, a customer of 20 years described their lawn staying green through June while a neighbor's, treated by what they called a fancier service, burned out — crediting Blue Ribbon's approach. In a 2017 review, a different customer of about seven years described a falling-out after the dry summer of 2016: Blue Ribbon handled the season's treatments except for the final feeding, which the customer said wasn't performed, with further explanation offered the following spring. With only two detailed accounts years apart, it's worth asking directly about a current service plan and what happens if a scheduled treatment is missed.
Had been a faithful customer for approximately seven years. Had what I thought was a good relationship. The dry summer of 2016 was a disaster. Blue Ribbon fulfilled their obligation up until the last feeding. They did not perform this. The following spring, they informed me that there would be a discount on 2017's service and was applied to the bill. I decided to cancel BR's service as I wasn't all that fond of how my lawn (a tough lawn) was turning out. I had called Tim, leaving a message on 4/27/2017 to notify him of my decision and to please refund the money that was pre-paid in-full for the last treatment that was not performed. Three unanswered calls (voice messages) later, on 5/18, 6/5 and 6/28 have still gone unanswered and I am still waiting on my refund of $56 on 7/14. Extremely, extremely disappointed! Don't go there... there are many other options available.
I have been dealing with Tim at Blue Ribbon Lawn Care for 20 years. I have been observing my neighbors lawn which is treated by a fancy lawn service, by June my neighbors lawn is burnt out while my lawn is grown in nicely and a beautiful color green.
