BM Flooring is the crew that turns up when you buy the floors somewhere else. Brandon Mills has run the Norwood corporation since 2003, installing hardwood, laminate, carpet and vinyl — much of it as the subcontract installer for LL Flooring / Lumber Liquidators, which is how most reviewers say they met the company. Porch puts the average at 3.3 across 17 online ratings, and the three reviews it prints are all one star. In a February 2020 review a homeowner described floor separation and poor refinishing four months after a $7,000-plus install, then two months of chasing before BM replied by email, judged the floor fine from photos, declined to come look and said to wait another month. In August 2021 another wrote that the sub BM sent cut partway through a wire feeding an outlet and two lights, left a section of quarter-round unfinished, and never returned two calls and an email. A third one-star review, from October 2017, is about a realtor being ignored at the office door rather than about any flooring job. The counterweight sits on its BBB page, which carries an A+ grade and where two reviewers speak well of the install crew, while a third says LL Flooring should contract with someone else. Nothing dated has been written about the work since 2021, and that is the main reason to hold this read loosely: the complaints are specific and credible, and they are also five and six years old. Massachusetts exempts floor-covering-only contractors from home improvement registration, so the lack of one here is not a mark against them. BuildZoom does list an active EPA lead-safe renovation certification and a Connecticut home improvement registration it says it verified, alongside a Rhode Island record whose last-seen expiration was April 2021 and a Pennsylvania record shown inactive. If a retailer assigns BM to your install, settle who fixes what before the crew arrives — in writing, with a named contact and a callback commitment. That is exactly where the complaints land.
They are contracted to do flooring for LL Flooring in Maine. They subcontracted to another company for the install. During the install the sub inadvertently cut partially through a wire that lowers an outlet and two lights. I sent them an email with photos and have now called twice leaving a detailed message and asking for s call back. They have yet to return the call. I am now I contact with LL Flooring concerning this and they are aware of BM Flooring lack of response. I should mention the sub also failed to complete the 1/4 round in a section of our dinning area. Beware of doing business with this company.
Warning! Deeply disappointed in the BM Flooring. I have had a disappointment time with this company. If Lumber liquidators is using them to install your floors go someplace else. After the install of my floors, 4 months later, I was having issues with flooring separation and notices some poor re-finishing I paid for on top of the new install. I went into Lumber liquidators to ask for them to come look at the floor. They said they would contact BM flooring. 2 months of trying to get a hold of them BM flooring they finally responded after several attempts from myself and Lumber liquidators by email. They asked for a few pictures and would not even come look at the floors. After looking at the pictures they determined they were fine, and not their issues. I asked for someone to come look at it. There response was to wait another month. I have asked to speak to the owner. No response. This is the company motto "no response" to anything that does not give them money. I paid them over 7000 dollars and cannot even get a call back from them. WARNING GO SOME PLACE ELSE.
I am a realtor in the state of Massachusetts. I stopped by this office today to introduce myself and exchange business cards, not that I got a chance to do that, because despite the fact that 3 of the workers there (assuming one of them was a manager or someone of authority sitting at her desk) saw me at their door, NO ONE took it upon themselves to open their door and assist me. This is the poorest customer service I've seen in years. Despicable.
LL Flooring most definitely needs to contract with someone else besides B M Flooring. They make the store look bad.
Had flooring installed in 2 bedrooms and the kitchen in january of 2023. The installation crew was great.
