Bob Bernier Handyman Services is a handyman business in Manchaug, MA. In a 2021 HomeAdvisor review, a customer wrote that Rob completed multiple top-to-bottom renovation projects, listing replacement windows, vinyl flooring, light electrical, plumbing, tile work, kitchen cabinets, countertops, bathroom vanities, toilets and painting. Another 2021 review said Bob showed up when he said he would, confirmed the estimate visit and the repair time, and quickly repaired the issue for less than he expected. In a 2021 HomeAdvisor review, a customer said Bob does good work when he shows up but extended projects to weeks and months, asked for more money in advance than the contract stated, and was paid in full for a kitchen with no work done and for stairs left half finished; that customer said the only completed project was a front deck replacement. In a separate 2021 review, a customer said he more than doubled his initial price after taking a look at the job, and that a promised deposit refund had not come through after 2 weeks.

Bob does good work when he shows up. However, he clearly overbooks projects and flits from one to the other, doing an hour or so here and there and extending the time of the project to weeks and months. He has a million excuses for why he cannot come and finish things. He provides a contract, but then willfully violates it both in terms of requesting more money put down in advance than stated and blowing past completion dates by weeks or months. We have given him checks and cash every time he has asked and now have actually paid for the projects in full without any work being done on them (kitchen) or with half of the work being done and now being in limbo (stairs). The only project he has actually completed was a front deck replacement. We hired him because of his good reviews and it is sad we have to give him a bad review, but repeated attempts to get him to finish things have fallen on deaf ears -- in fact, his recent promise to come was met by a no show and then no response when text messages were sent.
