The Hyde Park company says it runs two divisions: a commercial arm doing multi-unit wood framing across New England, and a residential side handling additions, roofing, decks, siding, and window and door replacement. Its own site describes the business as family, woman, and minority owned, co-owned by founder Mario Mejia and Mildred Mejia.
The Better Business Bureau lists it as incorporated in October 2015 with about ten employees and two Massachusetts locations, and grades it A+ while stating it is not BBB accredited — the grade is BBB's own scoring, not a customer rating. BBB also lists the work it takes on: single- and multi-family homes, assisted living facilities, student housing, large high-end estate homes, hotels, and additions. Its Procore Network page, at 1 Westinghouse Plaza in Boston, sits unclaimed. Neither page publishes a single customer review.
What is public instead is litigation. A February 2025 order in North Atlantic Carpenters Central Collection Agency v. Boston Carpentry LLC, in federal district court in Massachusetts, granted the plaintiffs' motion for summary judgment, and a legal case-summary site describes the same matter as a group of construction workers claiming their employer — named there as Boston Carpentry LLC, operating as Tavola — failed to pay them properly under federal wage laws. Those are third-party accounts of a dispute with a union collection agency over wages and benefit contributions, not accounts of a job done for a homeowner. They are still the most substantive public information about how this company handles what it owes.
One more thing to raise before signing anything: the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration on file for Boston Carpentry LLC, number 188515, is expired in the state registry. The company had one and it lapsed, which is a different fact from never having needed one — and HIC registration is the residential side of this business, not the commercial framing side.
If you are a developer with a multi-unit frame to put up, this is the kind of outfit built for that: the company says commercial framing is its core, and BBB's list of project types backs the scale of it. If you are a homeowner hiring for a deck, a roof, or an addition, ask two questions first — whether the home improvement contractor registration has been renewed, and how the 2025 wage-and-benefits case was resolved. Ask for a current certificate of insurance and references from residential jobs while you are at it, because there is no published homeowner track record to lean on here.
