Roy's Moving has been building a Google page that now runs to 844 ratings at 4.4 stars — a deep record for a Boston mover — and reading through this year's reviews, the volume of specific, named-crew praise is real. Eddy, Andres, Carlos, and Steven in the office come up again and again, not as generic mentions but tied to actual jobs: an emergency same-day move after another company cancelled on a customer's daughter, a couch that had been broken for months and got quietly fixed mid-move even though Roy's had nothing to do with the original damage, and a senior citizen using a walker who was cared for with enough attentiveness that the review thanked the crew three times over. That volume of repeat, specific praise is the strongest thing here — reviewers keep coming back a second, third, even fourth time and naming the same people. But two reviews from this spring describe something worth taking seriously before booking. One customer says a cheap initial quote nearly tripled once they were committed, and that the job then got handed off to a separate company hours away before being cancelled on short notice. Another describes a 60% deposit collected upfront, followed by an unreachable office and a delivery that never showed, with no refund in that reviewer's account. Neither reads like a one-off: similar complaints about shifting prices and slow, evasive communication on bigger or long-distance jobs show up further back in the company's history too, so it's a pattern worth asking about directly, not a fluke. Given that split, the sensible approach with Roy's is to lean on what the good reviews actually describe — a local, in-town move with a crew you can request by name — and get everything about a long-distance job nailed down before signing anything. Ask directly whether your move will be handled entirely by Roy's own crew or handed to a subcontractor, get the full price and deposit terms in writing, and confirm the delivery window in writing too, especially if you're moving out of state. For a straightforward local move, the reviews here are about as detailed and repeat-customer-heavy as it gets; for anything long-distance, treat the price on the phone as a starting point, not a promise.

This was my 4th time using Roys moving. They are always amazing and go above and beyond what they have been hired to do. I always tell everyone about the time my couch had been broken for months and they noticed while moving it and fixed it for me even though they had nothing to do with it breaking. I cannot recommend them enough and I tell anyone who is moving that they should hire Roys
