Read through Boston Prime Construction's reviews and one name turns up in nearly all of them: Tilo. Tilo Schuttel started the Marlborough company in 2019, and the carpentry roots still show in what people call about — crown molding on kitchen cabinets, custom built-in shelves, a reinforced staircase bannister, moulding in a living room. Reviewers writing through 2024 often called the company Prime Carpenters; the company says it renamed as it grew. The bigger jobs are there too. A homeowner who stayed in the house through the work describes a new master suite and a full kitchen renovation that held its schedule and budget. In a March 2025 review, another had an unfinished basement turned into a gym, theater, wet bar, bedroom and bathroom. A December 2025 kitchen job covered new cabinets, floors, countertops, backsplash and appliances, and that customer singled out the cabinet installer and the custom pantry. The volume is real but not vast: 28 reviews from 2023 into 2026, 5★ from 26 Google ratings and 5.0 from 24 on Thumbtack, with four more arriving in the last six months and none of them negative. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active under the company name — that one is checked against the state registry, unlike the Construction Supervisor License the company also lists for itself. Thumbtack shows 2024 Top Pro status, and the company points to a 2023 Angi Super Service Award. Two small notes rather than warnings. A 2024 customer, happy with the finished railing, island and cabinets, mentioned bumps along the way. And a 2025 review about a rebuilt exterior staircase described some complexity with the inspection that was rectified. Nothing else across three years of comments suggests a pattern. The fit here is a homeowner who wants one crew for a whole project — an addition, a basement build-out, a kitchen — and who cares about how the trim and built-ins land at the end. Ask about the Construction Supervisor License when you call, since only the HIC registration is registry-confirmed, and if you go looking for older references, remember they may be filed under Prime Carpenters.
