Bowden and Son LLC is a father-and-son crew; its website says the two have been framing, tiling and finishing homes since the 1990s, and that customers get the same two of them from the first walkthrough to the last piece of trim. The company says it offers free estimates and is insured, and lists a service area that includes Dudley, Webster, Oxford, Charlton, Southbridge, Sturbridge, Auburn and Worcester. In a recent Google review, a customer says Bowden and Son worked on their front porch, replacing the posts and the bannister and repainting the patio, front door and garage door, and also set up a firepit in their backyard. In another recent Google review, a customer says they knew what was going on with the project and what days they would be there to work on it, and that they did what they said they were going to do. In a 2025 Google review, a customer said Rick and Ricky fixed their front concrete stairs and that their quote was reasonable. A 2025 Google review said Bowden and Son LLC completed a farmer's porch replacement and "executed the work neatly and quickly." A 2025 HomeAdvisor review of a luxury vinyl flooring installation listed at $2,179 said the customer was happy with the new floors. In a 2024 Google review, a customer said Rick put in 2 walkways in 4 days and left the lawn butting up to the walkways in great shape. In another 2024 review, a customer said Rick Bowden and his son, Ricky, did drywall repair and a bathroom reconstruction project at their home. In a 2022 Google review, a customer said Rick, his son and one other worker took a day and a half to remove pavement, dig out the area, level the surface, compact the ground, add crushed stone and lay down the pavers for a back patio. In a 2025 Google review, a first-time homeowner who asked Rick to replace the steps and the deck in front of the house said the project was done as scheduled but was disappointed in the design and execution: the raw edges of the Trex boards are visible, the bare wood of the banister posts is exposed at the bottom, and the screws holding the Trex boards down were overdriven.
We had Bowden and Son work on our front porch, including replacing the posts and the bannister, repainting the patio, front door, and our garage door in our choice of colors. They also set up a firepit in our backyard and have done mulching for us. All the work was top quality.
