BP Plus Home Inspection is Bruce Platine, an independent home inspector working out of Southbridge and covering Worcester, Charlton and the surrounding area. By his own account he joined the inspection business his parents started in 1976 and has inspected full time since 1978, which he counts as 48 years; he describes himself as a full member of the American Society of Home Inspectors who served two years on its national membership committee. Beyond the standard inspection he offers termite inspections, radon testing and water quality and quantity testing. The people who hire him describe the same experience over and over: a fast reply to the first inquiry, a thorough walk-through, and a report explained rather than just delivered. In a March 2026 review a buyer praised clear, professional communication and a detailed inspection; a January 2026 buyer received the report the same night and got a follow-up call to go through it and answer questions. A September 2025 reviewer found the report comprehensive and appreciated that her husband could shadow the whole inspection, and a December 2025 reviewer noted he kept answering questions after the inspection was over. Earlier accounts add range: a 2023 homeowner with termite damage hired him for his house-building background and found him thorough despite a cluttered cellar, and a 2021 client used him for water quality and pest testing. Angi and HomeAdvisor, which share one profile, show 4.7 stars from 291 ratings, and both describe the reviews as overwhelmingly positive with one strongly negative outlier. That outlier is a December 2021 one-star review from a buyer who said he missed obvious problems, argued with the realtors on site, and produced a useless report. Nothing in the reviews since then repeats that complaint, and reviewers in 2022 noted he educated them without being condescending. Confirm whether radon, termite or water testing is bundled into the quote, and ask what turnaround to expect on the written report.
