The sharpest split on Breen & Sullivan's Google page has nothing to do with the work. Five separate reviewers between 2023 and 2026 left one- and two-star ratings about how the company's trucks drive on the highway, and at least two of them said plainly they had never hired the company. That drags the Google average to 3.8 across 31 ratings — and it hides what the actual service calls look like. The company works out of 3 Lopez Rd in Wilmington and describes itself as a privately held commercial and industrial HVAC, electrical and plumbing contractor serving building owners across greater Boston, led by president Jeff Beane and operating as part of the Service Logic group. BBB records it as started in 1992, incorporated that December, with about 50 employees. When customers write about the work, they name people. In a 2025 review a homeowner described a technician, Timothy, coming out to check an HVAC system, finding nothing wrong with it, and then spotting that the attic dryer vent had never been connected to the outside — a fire hazard the original developer left behind. He brought in the sheet metal group, and John worked it out in a cramped attic. Another 2025 reviewer credited Guss in service with fixing a residential AC leak the previous summer and returning to install a thermostat. In 2024, a Boxford homeowner described a difficult condensation problem worked through fairly. A 2022 customer said a plumbing crew ran new water lines and left nothing behind to pick up. Two things are worth raising before you call. This is at heart a commercial mechanical operation, and in 2023 a homeowner who asked for a quote on a new HVAC system was told the company was not taking new customers — so residential availability may hinge on whether you are already a client. And follow-up after installation has slipped at least once: a reviewer in May 2026 said a newly installed generator failed the first time the power went out with no response from the company, then edited the review to say Breen & Sullivan had since reached out and corrected the problem. The BBB picture is two separate facts rather than one. The profile carries an A+ grade, and the same page states the business is not BBB Accredited. This is the right call for a building owner or a homeowner already on the books who wants HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection handled by one contractor with a long Wilmington history behind it. If you are calling cold about a residential system replacement, the first question to ask is whether they are taking new residential customers at all.

Informative tips on conserving energy costs on HVAC
We worked with Lauren Mushrush and Derek Reed of Breen and Sullivan and they were incredibly easy and professional to work with.
Our newly installed generator failed to work the first time we lost power after installation and no one from the company will respond. Edit: The company has reached out and corrected the problem.
One of your Hammond electric drivers just tried to run me off the road and slam into my sedan with my two kids inside. I called the local number to report. That was absolutely psychotic and he needs to be off the road. Each tech represents your company. Do the right thing and resolve this before someone gets hurt.
