Breen & Sullivan Mechanical Services is a Wilmington mechanical contractor that building owners across greater Boston have used for heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical work since 1992. The company describes itself as a privately held commercial HVAC firm with commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and data-center clients, now a member of the Service Logic family of companies and partnered with ENCON Commercial Services. The Better Business Bureau grades it A+ without accrediting it and records fifty employees under principals John Breen and Robert Sullivan. Homeowners show up in the reviews too, and the ones who hired the company mostly describe careful technicians. In August 2025 a service technician checking a working HVAC system noticed an unconnected dryer vent in the attic, flagged it as a fire hazard and brought in the company's sheet-metal group. In May 2025 a reviewer praised the technician who repaired a leaking residential air conditioner and later installed a thermostat, calling him clean, respectful and honest. A 2022 customer had new water lines run and described timely, fair-priced and exceptionally clean plumbing work, and a 2024 Boxford homeowner had a difficult condensation problem worked through fairly. A February 2026 reviewer valued the fast response and the fact that HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire-and-life-safety sit under one roof. Two things are worth asking about. Five of the sixteen reviews, from 2023 through March 2026, are low ratings from drivers who say company vehicles tailgated them, cut them off or forced them out of their lane; none of those reviewers hired the firm, so they say nothing about the work, but they are a recurring public complaint about how its trucks are driven. Separately, a May 2026 customer reported that a newly installed generator failed at the first outage and that nobody responded at first, then updated the review to say the company had reached out and corrected the problem, and a 2023 homeowner asking for a new-system quote was told the company was not taking new customers. Breen & Sullivan is a strong fit for a commercial building owner, and a reasonable one for a homeowner who can get on its residential schedule and wants an established multi-trade shop rather than a one-truck operator. Confirm up front that they are taking residential work, and ask who to call after hours if a new installation gives trouble.
