Called to get a repair quote specifically asking for that at the beginning of the call. Was assured there was no cost for the quote. After wasting 10 minutes of my time collecting information they tell me there's a service charge for a quote. The charge is not the problem if that is your policy, not being upfront about it is unacceptable.

Because my furnace had started producing a strange rattling noise during the night and was no longer keeping the upstairs bedrooms warm, I scheduled a visit from Morgan, one of the technicians at Valley Home Comfort, and I was pleasantly surprised by how calmly and patiently he walked me through every test he performed, despite my complete lack of experience with anything more complicated than changing the batteries in the thermostat. He arrived right on time, removed his shoes at the door without being asked, and then spent almost an hour inspecting the blower compartment, testing the pressure switch, and checking each electrical connection, all the while explaining in terms I could actually understand why a loose mounting bracket had allowed the motor to vibrate against the metal housing. Although I had imagined that a repair would involve expensive replacement parts, he tightened the bracket, applied a small amount of thread-locking compound, and then demonstrated the proper way to replace the filter and vacuum the return grille, which he said would reduce future strain on the blower and help the system run more quietly. Before leaving, he showed me how to create a custom schedule on the programmable thermostat so the furnace would not cycle unnecessarily during the day when no one is home, provided a printed checklist for seasonal upkeep, and even emailed me a short video summarizing everything in case I forgot. I found the entire experience refreshingly educational, completely transparent, and far more affordable than I had feared, so I will absolutely request Morgan specifically for my spring air-conditioning tune-up and I have already recommended Valley Home Comfort to my sister, who has been struggling with uneven heat in her new town-house.

This way I knew for sure who was at my front door. Trevor was very polite. He did not bring in dirt from the outside. He was very efficient and well-informed. He did a good job of explaining our options. He even waited several minutes to have my husband arrive to repeat everything. I would highly recommend!
