Those are the company's own numbers; nothing independent backs them up. The written record splits hard along a time line. The praise is old: three Houzz reviews, all 5-star, dated 2013 to 2020. In a March 2020 review a homeowner described four windows and the related porch carpentry going in at a price they thought fair for the window grade and warranty; another that same month credited a sales rep named John and a project manager named Angel with holding a roof-and-siding job together when unforeseen structural work turned up mid-project. Back in 2013, a customer had the roof replaced and a custom door installed and called the work reasonably priced. The complaint is the recent one, and it is specific. A June 2025 Google reviewer described a siding job that started a month late and then stalled because the wrong quantity of siding had been ordered, leaving the house unsided for weeks, and faulted the company's communication when they escalated to the owner. That single account is what pulls this read down: it is the newest thing on file and it describes exactly the failure mode — scheduling and materials — that costs a homeowner the most. A few things to pin down before signing. Houzz lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, HIC# 177704, for the business, but that is the directory's entry and not a registry confirmation, so ask for the number and check it yourself. The Houzz profile also carries a self-described "A rated on Angie's List based on over 100 reviews" claim that Houzz itself does not corroborate, and describes the company as a "platinum level installer" without naming the manufacturer or program — worth asking which program, since Houzz separately lists James Hardie Preferred Contractor and IKO Storm Shield certifications that are checkable with those manufacturers. Budget Exteriors is a reasonable call if price is your binding constraint and you are willing to manage the schedule closely. Get the start date, the material order, and the change-order process in writing, and confirm the registration before any deposit changes hands.
