The most useful review of John's Construction opens with a refusal — someone else's. A homeowner with an 1890 slate roof on a three-story house wrote in July 2026 that this was the only company that would not turn the job down, and added that the crew stayed in OSHA compliance while climbing and walking the slate. That is roughly what people hire this Methuen outfit for: roofs other contractors pass on. In June 2026 a customer had them redo the roof of an 1800s house, take down a chimney, and reframe the soffits and fascia before wrapping them in aluminum — the crew, they said, worked their butts off getting it done. Another that month had a 25-year-old camp roof replaced and singled out the cleanup. Communication comes up again and again, in English and in Spanish. One May 2026 reviewer described clear communication and guaranteed, effective work. The Google page averages five stars across nine ratings. The caution here is arithmetic. Eight written reviews exist, every one of them posted in 2026, every one of them five stars, with no earlier history to weigh them against. That is a real but very short public track record, and it is the reason this rating sits below the star average rather than on top of it. Worth a call for slate, an old roof, or a roof-plus-gutters-and-trim job other roofers do not want. Before signing, ask for addresses from a few of those 2026 jobs, get the workmanship warranty in writing, and ask for current proof of insurance — routine checks that matter more when a company's public history is this new.

The only company who did not turn down work on an older 1890 slate roof. Workers were in full compliance of OSHA rules while climbing and walking on the slate roof of a 3-story house. workers displayed great work ethics, strongly recommend this contractor who also does gutters and interior work.

Highly recommended John’s Construction! We hired John to redo our roof, remove our chimney, and reframe our soffits and facia and wrap with aluminum. The house is an old 1800s house. And let me just tell you that that crew worked their butts off getting that done! John is very easy to talk to, extremely accommodating, and very quality conscious. His team are a group of extremely hard-working people that show up in the morning and work until the job gets done. This type of work ethic is very rarely seen nowadays. John- thank you so much for the work that you guys did at our house. And I look forward to seeing you later this summer. When we get the mudroom built! Thanks Mike S.

John’s General corporation is really good at doing roofing insider. I would have to give this a five star rating because how good the service how quickly they do it and they don’t charge us as much and I just wanna say that John Jones corporation is the best for roofing in citing.

What does a roof replacement cost in Greater Boston?

Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from JOHN'S COSTRUCTION. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.

Estimated range

$9,000 – $18,600

Typical roofing project around $13,800
