Busy Beavers

A new fence drew compliments from neighbors and passersby for one Busy Beavers customer in April 2025. Other Google customers writing in 2022–2024 described missed visits and unanswered messages. The North Billerica fencing company has customer accounts stretching from 2017 to 2025, with both finished work people liked and complaints about getting the contractor back. Busy Beavers describes itself as family-owned and operated, with the owner working directly with clients on every job site. Its website offers wood, vinyl, aluminum and chain-link fences, as well as retaining walls, patios and walkways. The company says it has been in business for 17 years. BBB lists 21 years in business and accreditation since 2009, while Angi and HomeAdvisor list 31 years of experience. Those are different descriptions of its history. Its BBB grade is A+. In the April 2025 Google review, the customer praised Jim's installation and materials, said the fence improved the home's curb appeal, and described his estimate as the most reasonable of three. A September 2025 Google customer also praised Jim after he replaced sections of fence. These are dated accounts of the work, rather than promises about a future project. Older Angi reviews describe more of the installation process. In March 2021, a customer who hired Jim to install a cedar fence said he kept his word about the timeframe, estimate and product. A November 2019 customer described receiving repair-or-replace options after a storm damaged an existing fence, then choosing replacement and liking the solid new fence. In December 2019, another customer said Jim accommodated their preferences, measured and leveled carefully, and delivered the fence they wanted. Communication has also gone the other way. A January 2023 Angi customer praised Jim's updates and work but said several weeks passed before his schedule allowed the project. A May 2024 Google customer reported missed visits and difficulty getting him back to fix the work. A May 2023 reviewer said calls and texts went unanswered; a September 2022 customer described months of exchanges and an estimate before the contractor stopped responding. Google lists 3.5 stars from 13 ratings, while Angi and HomeAdvisor each list 4.7 from 34.
