In a July 2026 Google review, Nathan and Angela Fenderson wrote that they were starting completely from scratch and needed to design a custom home on-site with a limited footprint. They named Adam, Gary, Rick, Sharlotte and Dave as the Canbury team that took them from discovery work and home design through construction, and wrote that the company continues to stay in touch now that construction is done. Canbury Homes describes itself as a full-service custom and modular home builder based in Sanford, Maine, with more than 20 years of experience. In an August 2024 Google review, a customer wrote that David built their modular house in a timely manner and kept things right on track with the budget. A May 2025 reviewer described the onsite construction of their garage by Dave Patterson and his team, with design work by Adam Winslow, and wrote that the worksite was kept clean throughout. A couple who customized their first home wrote in March 2025 that Dave and Adam answered their questions within 24 hours, and that after they moved in, with a couple of little projects still unfinished, Dave kept calling with updates. In December 2023 a 1-star Google reviewer accused David of charging for things he did not do and of taking a $15K draw for a driveway the reviewer had paid cash for, and wrote that he was inappropriate with the reviewer's wife. A September 2025 2-star reviewer complained that the company took over their neighborhood, blocking traffic and parking in residents' driveways. And an August 2024 customer who was pleased with the home added a caution: "Normal time delays are inevitable, don't get married to a specific date." On Google, Canbury holds 4.5 stars from 20 ratings.
There were many options when it came to choosing a home builder, and finding the right one required a great deal of research and careful consideration. Without hesitation, I can say that Canbury Homes Inc. is a top-notch company that delivers professionalism, quality, and outstanding customer service. From the very beginning, Canbury Homes guided my wife and me through every step of the process. We were starting completely from scratch and needed to design a custom home on-site with a limited footprint, which presented unique challenges. The Canbury team—Adam, Gary, Rick, Sharlotte, and Dave—were instrumental in turning our vision into reality. Communication throughout the entire project was exceptional. From the initial discovery work and home design to construction and final completion, every detail was handled with care and professionalism. The team was always available to answer questions, provide guidance, and keep us informed, making what could have been a stressful process both enjoyable and rewarding. What truly sets Canbury Homes apart is their commitment to their customers. Their dedication didn’t end when construction was completed. They continue to stay in touch and ensure that everything meets our expectations, demonstrating a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction and long-term relationships. We truly believe that Canbury Homes Inc. is among the best home builders in Southern Maine. Best Regards, Nathan & Angela Fenderson
Very happy with the overall finished house. when issues came up, I was kept informed and it was taken care of in a timely manner. The team was great and answered all my questions with ease. Great overall experience with Canbury Homes, I would highly recommend.
Some pictures of my home from Canbury, everyone from the company was great to work with, even their subcontractors. I visited the house regularly while it was being worked on and they were always happy to give updates and get back to me with any questions. They came up with ideas for me and even helped make sure I was able to afford everything, could be happier.
You guys came in and completely took over our neighborhood blocking traffic and parking in residents driveways. It was so rude to not even have cookies or snacks or anything to give us for the inconvenience.
Dave Patterson and his team were extremely professional and informative throughout the process of the onsite construction of our garage and the time leading up to the start of construction including the design work by Adam Winslow. The quality of the workmanship was top notch and the worksite was kept clean throughout the construction period. I would truly recommend Canbury to anyone looking to build a new home, addition or garage.
