CAP Electric, Inc. runs out of 16R Jonspin Road in Wilmington and describes itself as an electrical contractor for both homes and businesses — wiring, maintenance and troubleshooting, plus access control, security systems and CCTV. It names Wilmington, Andover, Woburn and Lowell as its service area and says it is Mass Save certified. Its Massachusetts electrician licence, number 659, is verified as active against the state registry in the company's own name. The permit trail backs up steady residential work: BuildZoom shows 98 projects on file and at least 33 pulled permits over the past three years, mostly electrical jobs and home additions, with a typical permit value around $2,800 — the shape of a shop doing everyday house work rather than one-off big builds. What customers wrote is warm but not fresh. In a 2022 review, a homeowner described an electrical panel upgrade where the crew checked that everything worked, left the place spotless, and fixed a flickering light by changing the bulb without making them feel silly. Another 2022 reviewer praised the teams on a new construction room and garage. In a 2023 review, a homeowner with a breaker that kept tripping on an HVAC circuit said "Pat from CAP" sent two electricians out the next afternoon and they traced and fixed it in a couple of hours; a second 2023 reviewer credited the same technician with good communication on a commercial job. The most recent review is the one to raise. In December 2025 a customer wrote that the company did all the electrical work on their house addition and that six months after the job was supposed to be finished nothing worked as it should — flickering lights, dead outlets, and whole-house smoke alarms wired on the same phase as their bedroom without being consulted — and that calls went unanswered. Google's overall average sits at 3.7 stars across nine ratings, so that account is not the whole picture, but it is the newest one on file. There is also a public-record question worth putting directly to them. In April 2026 the Boston Herald reported that a man named Christopher owned CAP Electric, Inc., a business specialising in energy-conservation work, and that he began bribing people in 2013 at CLEAResult, the firm that selected and oversaw contractors for Mass Save. BuildZoom separately lists the current owner of the Wilmington company as Patrick M Walsh, so who ran the business when, and what has changed since, is not settled by these sources. If you hire them, ask who will run your job, get the scope and the sign-off in writing, and ask how the December 2025 complaint was resolved.
