Cape Cod Fence Co

Cape Cod Fence Co has been building and installing custom fencing from its South Yarmouth shop since 1956, by its own account the area's original fence company — a claim its long Google review history backs up. The company sells and installs wood, vinyl, aluminum and chain-link fencing along with gates, sheds, flagpoles and pool and tennis enclosures, and it's counted among the Davenport Companies' Cape Cod investments alongside a senior-living community and a real estate arm. The pattern across nine years of reviews, 2021 through 2025, is remarkably consistent: 42 Google ratings average 4.5 stars, and the same notes repeat — fair pricing, friendly office staff, and installations customers call outstanding. A 2023 Reddit poster said they'd used the company for decades; a 2025 Nextdoor post called the service very efficient. The Better Business Bureau gives the business an A+ rating, though it isn't BBB-accredited. One thing worth knowing: OSHA safety records tied to Cape Cod Fence Co Trust show two inspections since 2015 resulting in eight violations and $4,920 in penalties. It's a modest total against nearly seven decades in business, but it's on the record and worth weighing alongside the otherwise strong reputation. Sources don't fully agree on the exact tenure — the company and BBB point to 1956 (BBB's own page separately says 1957), and Porch's listing claims both 59 and 70 years of experience on the same page — but every account puts the business at multiple decades old, consistent with the long run of praise in its reviews. For straightforward fence work on Cape Cod, this is a long-established, well-reviewed shop; it's reasonable to ask about their safety practices given the OSHA history, but the customer record itself is strong and consistent across years.
