A recent customer of five years said Cardinal & Glidden put in a newer, larger oil tank, arrived on time, finished when they said they would and left the place clean. The next day, that customer said, the company called to say the new tank qualified for money back from a program. The company names Farmington, Rochester, Milton, Alton and Middleton as its service area and says it offers 24/7 emergency service. A 2025 customer called it a go-to for home heating oil and said it was always quick to deliver. A 2023 customer said a refill call took 34 seconds and delivery was almost always the next day. A 2024 customer said the company always answered after one ring and came the next day to fill the tank, leaving dog treats for the pets. On the service side, a 2021 customer who came home to the smell of oil said a technician was at the house within 20 minutes, dealt with the problem and cleaned up after himself. A 2024 customer said Mike, a technician, came out and got their heat going again. A 2026 customer of 13 years said that after more than a year without a delivery, they were told they had to be "re-established" as a customer and wait until March. A 2024 customer who had just bought a home said the company told them the tank no longer passed inspection because of a "change in regulations" and was quick to recommend replacement; that customer went to a new company. A 2025 customer said a letter told them the tank's vent pipe was not up to current code, and that boiler cleanings had needed a second visit. A 2025 customer who mailed a check the day of delivery said a letter demanding payment followed and they were yelled at on the phone.
We have used Cardinal and Glidden for 5 years. They are always professional and timely. We recently upgraded and had a newer larger tank put in. They arrived on time and got finished when they said they would be. They left the place clean after doing the work. The next day they called and said with getting a new tank it qualified us for some money back from a program. It has been hard to find reliable service people since we moved to New Hampshire but they are one of the very best we've had. Everyone we have dealt with in the company from the office staff, service department, and technicians have been great!
Prompt and professional.
I have been a customer of Cardinal Glidden for 13 years, but their service has declined significantly. When I recently called to order oil, they said I needed to be "re-established" as a customer because it had been over a year since my last delivery. After my last delivery, they informed me there would be a $100 fee if I didn't order over 100 gallons. I waited for my tank to get low enough to avoid that charge. When I finally called, they told me I'd have to wait until March to be re-established. Find another company that values its customers – Cardinal Glidden clearly does not.
Guess the good part is that they actually came and serviced the address. But customer service should really make sure they hang up the call before talking about their paying clients. My mom has lung cancer and COPD so she's on oxygen nightly and the customer service line had the audacity to talk trash and say my mom was lying just to get service quicker. Im sure yall get the pos liars. But. My mom's not one. Moral of the story: hang up your call if youre gonna talk trash about a paying client. Thanks. 😁
They seemed very nice on the phone
