CAS Property Services, run out of New Bedford, MA under Craig, is built around exterior painting and staining — the kind of job where the weather calls the shots. Reviewers across six years keep circling back to Craig by name, and Angi and HomeAdvisor each list a Massachusetts trade license (#215129, expiring March 2027) for the company. The written record is longer than most: six reviews from 2020 to 2026 across the two platforms, and the company's Angi and HomeAdvisor pages each show a 4.6-star average from 70 ratings, about 79% of them five stars. In a 2023 review, a homeowner said Craig was very responsive to texts and voicemails during scheduling and had the job done the very next day. A 2022 review describes Craig and a crew member named Brian coming out in person to quote a tricky basement-wall job within 24 hours and fixing it to the customer's satisfaction. A 2025 review calls out the crew's cleanup habits, saying they tidied up after every work day. Worth knowing before booking: a review from this past August was more mixed — the customer said the painter was careful about weather but left a mess for the homeowner to clean up, spilled paint on a new deck, and missed a spot on a porch door. And in a 2021 review, a customer who'd agreed to a quote and an August start said calls and texts went unanswered until they were told, weeks later, the job wouldn't happen that year because of another New Bedford project. For exterior painting, staining, or general property upkeep in the New Bedford area, CAS has a long enough record to judge by, and the license and the bulk of the reviews are solid. Given the range between the best and worst accounts, it's worth confirming a firm start date and asking directly how cleanup is handled before the crew arrives.
Contractor was very concerned and conscientious about not painting when it was damp or when rain was expected. And most of the paint looks to have been applied satisfactorily. However, they were not very tidy. Leaving lots for the homeowners to clean up afterwards. They spilled paint on a new deck and missed painting the head jamb on the porch door.
Craig and his crew did an excellent job. They were very professional. They went above and beyond what was expected. They cleaned up after every work day. I would highly recommend them.
Pleasure to do business with. During scheduling, Craig was very responsive to texts and voicemails. Did the job the very next day. Quality of work was fine - couldnt ask for any better. Did exactly what we agreed upon. Recommend highly..
Craig/Brian were very awesome to work with. They came in after I had a tough time getting my basement walls the way I wanted. They were the only company that actually came by to see the work in person. They took measurements, and got me a quote in 24hrs. Brian did an amazing job correcting the issues I had. Can't even believe what he did. Best part of all is they saved me a ton of money and time. Definitely hire these guys if you need anything. I know I will be giving them more business.
I received a quote in May and agreed to the price, they said they could not get to it until August and I agreed. I called late in August and did not get a returned phone call, then I texted and was told they would not be doing the work this year at all they had a big job in New Bedford. This was terrible customer service.
