Casaletto & Son's Plumbing & Heating is a one-person plumbing and heating shop run by owner Thomas Casaletto out of 18 Valley Street in Medford, Massachusetts, with a second address listed in Malden. The Better Business Bureau records the business as having started in 1983, which puts it at more than four decades in the trade. The work itself is straightforward residential plumbing and gas: BuildZoom's permit records credit the business with 73 permitted projects across Boston, Brookline and the Newton villages — bathroom and kitchen fixture work, water heater replacements, gas piping and dryer and range hookups, and irrigation backflow preventers. The Better Business Bureau describes the same range as plumbing and heating renovations plus new construction and installation. The homeowner testimony is thin and dated. In a September 2011 review, a customer described Tom arriving right on time for an emergency, explaining what had gone wrong, having every part needed on hand, and finishing quickly — and said the bill was reasonable rather than inflated for the emergency. That is a specific and warm account, but it is fifteen years old, and it is the only written account on file. Licensing is where you should push for current paperwork. The Better Business Bureau lists a Master Plumbing licence #10720 and Journeymen Plumbing licence #19790 from the Massachusetts Board of Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters, while BuildZoom lists #10720 as a plumber licence and a different number, #9720, as the master plumber licence, marking all of them 'License Not Verified' — and it shows three further Massachusetts licences (a sprinkler contractor registration and two pipefitter-master licences) as inactive and once cancelled. Those are directory claims, not registry findings. For small residential plumbing, heating and gas work in the Medford, Malden and Boston area this is a long-established owner-operator; ask Tom directly for his current master plumber licence number and insurance certificate, and for a couple of recent references, since the public feedback trail stops in 2011.
Tom is great. Very nice man and even more honest. He arrived right on time, explained the problem with my plumbing, had all the parts needed and fixed it quickly. Tom is a gem and I will always use him going forward!. I was surprisingly happy to receive the bill as he is reasonable and did not take advantage of my emergency situation.
