Cavossa Disposal is a family-owned Cape Cod waste-hauling company based in East Falmouth. Its website says Carl and Kristen Cavossa started the excavation company in 1993 and later expanded into disposal, recycling, dumpsters and septic-related excavation; BBB lists Cavossa Disposal as an alternate name for Carl Cavossa Excavating and reports 32 years in business. The company serves residential and commercial customers, with junk removal and roll-off containers at the center of the work and excavation as a related offering. Customers describe a split experience. Older Google reviews praise prompt dumpster delivery, helpful staff, straightforward transitions between haulers and responsive people such as Andrew and Henry. Other reviews describe missed pickups, delayed dumpster removal, scattered trash, contract frustration and poor customer service. The most recent six-month sample contains five reviews, four negative, so current service reliability deserves more weight than the long history of praise. Before booking, confirm the pickup and removal window, charges for extra or restricted materials, and the contract’s cancellation terms. A 2021 review praised Cavossa for explaining charges around mattresses, televisions, propane tanks and couches; other reviewers said they were left with full or overlong dumpsters and could not end contracts easily. BBB shows a B- grade, no accreditation and one complaint. Cavossa may fit a homeowner or contractor needing a dumpster, trash service or construction-debris hauling, especially when local coverage matters. Get the material rules, total price, scheduled pickup date and cancellation policy in writing, and ask how missed or delayed service is handled.
I rented a 15-yard walk-in dumpster from Cavossa Disposal for a house cleanout. The quoted price was $495, though I was charged $485 due to an internal entry error on their end. Before completing payment, I specifically asked Jake, the employee who took my payment information, what it would cost if the dumpster needed to be taken away, emptied, and brought back because I anticipated having more debris than the dumpster could hold. I was told verbatim that this would cost $150. Jake also stated that he was referencing another order where this had been done. A few days later, once the dumpster was full, I called expecting to schedule the removal and return based on the $150 price I had been given. Instead, I was told it would cost another full rental fee of $495 and that the information I had originally been given was incorrect. I asked Cavossa Disposal to honor the pricing I was provided before I made the purchase, as that information directly influenced my decision and my cleanout budget - Or to at least meet me in the middle. Rather than honoring the original quote, they offered an alternative that would still cost me over $375. I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled. I understand mistakes happen, but a company should take responsibility when its employee provides incorrect pricing before a customer agrees to move forward. Instead, the financial burden was shifted onto me after the fact. I will be filing complaints with the BBB and FTC regarding this experience. While some workers I spoke to on the phone were pleasant, I do NOT recommend this company for anyone that expects fair practice.
To Cavossa , Two of your trucks were speeding down Charlotte Furnace Road in West Wareham. This is a residential neighborhood with children, pets, and wildlife around. The speed limit is 30 mph — not whatever your drivers feel like doing. Please remind your drivers to slow down and respect the neighborhood before someone gets hurt.
Cavossa currently provides trash collection services to two condominium buildings, and the experience has been extremely disappointing. Service quality has been poor, with trash frequently left scattered throughout the property. The commitments made at the time the condo associations entered into the contract have not been honored. I requested an early termination of the agreement due to these ongoing issues, but that request was denied even though the remaining balance on the contract is only a few thousand dollars. As it stands, Cavossa appears more willing to retain dissatisfied customers than to part ways.
It'd be great if your CDL holding drivers knew about right of way, I get really tired of some of them feeling the road rules don't apply. I do the same job but don't feel the need to cut people off or go out of turn at stop signs/lights.
I am currently doing home renovations, which has required multiple dumpsters. Cavossa is hands down the best. Customer service, price point, etc. Highly recommend.
