Cedar House Design Collective is a design studio that, by its own description, handles everything from kitchen updates to full-home renovations. It lists East Providence, Bristol, Barrington, Providence and Portsmouth as its service area and says it has been in business for eight years. A recent customer said Cedar House transformed a basement family area, designing the space around the household's hobbies and interests. A 2025 customer said Julie and Erika brought a bedroom, bathroom and laundry room to life in a Westerly home. That 2025 customer, a first-time renovator, wrote that they managed the construction process and kept the customer informed through the usual hiccups and a slight delay. A 2024 customer hired the firm for a vacation home in Narragansett, combining Erika's design with the owners' input, and also had it project manage the construction, the subcontractors and the receiving and installation of furniture. That 2024 customer said the project finished on time and within the agreed budget, and that the firm saw a few small punch list items through. A 2024 customer wrote that Erika and Julie worked smoothly with the customer's own contractor and subcontractors during a remodel and were responsive to the surprises that came up.

We approached Cedar House looking for help maximizing both the form and function of our basement family area. What they delivered exceeded our expectations—a thoughtful vision that truly unlocked the potential of the space. Rather than simply making it look beautiful, the team took the time to understand how we live and designed the space around our hobbies and interests. It’s already become a favorite gathering spot for family and friends. We couldn’t be more pleased with the result—Cedar House transformed our basement into a space that’s both stunning and genuinely livable.
Julie and Erika brought my dream bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room to life in my Westerly home—and somehow exceeded even my highest expectations. They translated my vision into a space that feels more "me" than I ever could have imagined, perfectly balancing style, comfort, and functionality. They truly captured what it means to make a house a home. As a first-time renovator, I was especially thankful for how they managed the construction process. Even with the usual hiccups and a slight delay, they kept me informed and reassured every step of the way. I am excited to work with them again in the future on my next project!
We used Cedar House Design for our vacation home in Narragansett, RI, and we couldn't be happier with the result. Aesthetically, the house is exactly what we wanted. It is a wonderful mix of Erika's design, with our input. Everyone who comes visit is stunned by the uniqueness, beauty and feel of the space. Beyond the design aspect, we hired CHD to project manage the construction, the sub contractors and the receiving and instillation of furniture. This was all handled without any issue. Our project was finished on time, and within our agreed upon budget. As with any project there were a few small punch list items that needed to be completed, and they were excellent at seeing those through. Overall we are very happy, and plan to use them again for future projects. And are happy to recommend them to others.
Working with Cedar House Design Collective was truly a 5-star experience. Erika and Julie are not only very talented designers with a solid knowledge of the construction process, they are also dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service. They were incredibly responsive and creative in dealing with the inevitable “surprises” that arise with a remodeling. They also worked very smoothly with our contractor and subcontractors, making the process seamless from our perspective. We wouldn’t do another remodeling without them.
