Celtic Colors, Inc. is a residential painting company based in Plymouth, Massachusetts, working across the South Shore. The company's own Houzz profile describes over 10 years in business, while a separate directory profile puts it at 21 years — homeowners should ask directly how long the crew has actually been operating. Reviews across many years consistently reference a foreman named Seamus leading the crew.
The company holds an active Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license (#173254), verified against the state registry.
Across 13 written reviews spanning 2015 through a review from May 2026, every rating is five stars, and platform-wide averages on Google, Houzz, BuildZoom, Porch and Angi all read 5.0. Homeowners repeatedly single out interior and exterior painting, cabinet painting and refinishing, and complex ceiling work — in a 2022 review, a homeowner said Celtic Colors took on two full rooms with cathedral ceilings after other companies refused the job, and in a 2020 review, a homeowner in a house built in 1900 said extensive ceiling repair left the surfaces looking brand new. A 2019 review specifically praised a kitchen cabinet painting job, and other reviews describe wallpaper removal and wall repair done as prep work ahead of painting.
The crew is described across years of reviews as punctual, clean and communicative — reviewers use words like professional, courteous and neat, and one long-time customer said every employee who has worked in their house over many years has proven reliable. The most recent review on file, from May 2026, continues that pattern: a homeowner who had exterior painting done, along with gutter replacement and wood-rot repair, said the crew showed up every day until the job was finished.
A few things are worth confirming before booking. Some of the platform ratings rest on very few reviews — Angi's 5.0 average is a single review from 2015, and BuildZoom's is two reviews — so those figures carry less weight than Google's or Houzz's larger samples. Porch's 11-rating, 5.0 average is also worth a second look: the platform states this figure aggregates reviews posted elsewhere rather than reviews left directly on Porch. And BuildZoom's own profile, which is unclaimed, names a different owner and lists a phone number that doesn't match the one on file elsewhere, though the address and license number line up.
Celtic Colors fits homeowners considering interior or exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, or painting jobs that involve real prep work like wallpaper removal or ceiling repair — the kind of work reviewers say other painters turned down. Worth confirming directly: how long the company has actually been operating, and current availability, since most of the written record predates the last few years.
