The work customers describe most is refinishing and staining existing floors, often in older houses. In an August 2025 review a homeowner described 1,500 square feet refinished and stained with a Bona stain and said the process was professional from beginning to end. In a September 2025 review another homeowner described hiring Cesar after a different company used the wrong hardwood, sanded poorly and left seams where boards should have been feathered; they said he explained the fix, started immediately, and the final product was stunning. A June 2023 reviewer described 120-year-old floors with water damage brought back to glowing hardwood, and reviewers in 2022, 2023 and 2024 repeatedly described estimates given promptly, jobs finished on schedule, and floors completed inside tight timelines — one said a whole floor was done in two days.
The complaint on file is specific and worth raising before you sign. A June 2024 reviewer said the finish was uneven, with shiny spots in some areas, uneven application in others and drips dried randomly, that the job ran past the time communicated so they spent unplanned money on hotels, and that a return visit to fix the call-outs left things worse rather than better. A 2021 reviewer with a broadly positive experience also noted the crew had to come back for a couple of minor fixes, which they said were handled without issue. Ask to see recently completed floors in person, agree the polyurethane finish schedule and the number of coats in writing, and get the out-of-house days pinned down before the crew starts.
Two other things to check. The company's own site states two different tenures — "over 20 years" in one paragraph and over 10 years elsewhere — and it names no owner, so ask directly how long the business has traded under this name and who will run your job. And the reviewable record is single-platform: the 4.9 average rests on 38 Google ratings while only 17 comments could be read, the newest from September 2025.
This is a reasonable call for hardwood refinishing and repair in the Boston suburbs, particularly rescue work on older floors. Confirm the finish specification, the schedule, and current Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration before work begins.
