Charlie's Chimneys replaced a fireplace insert for a recent Google customer, who called the company professional and punctual. A 2025 Google customer said the company installed a liner in bitter cold and very snowy weather, and that the place was spotlessly clean when he was done. A 2024 Google customer said that after a sweep, the woodstove area and clean-out were left full of debris, and the interior near the top of the chimney was not cleaned because he didn't want to get out his ladder. That 2024 customer said they were told the liner was cracked and the chimney had had a fire, and were encouraged to go through their insurance provider for about $7K in liner replacement costs. The 2024 customer said the photos showed a surface scrape rather than a crack, and that an inspection by another company gave the chimney a clean bill of health.
Charlie’s Chimney was very professional and punctual. I had a fireplace insert replaced. Excellent company. Highly recommend for your fireplace insert installation and chimney services !!
Pleasant experience all around
Great survive and kind worker.
Charlie’s chimney is very professional and did a fantastic job installing my liner in this bitter cold and very snowy weather…kind and courteous and the place was spotlessly clean when he was done…highly recommend
Unfortunately, we had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience with this company. After the owner did the sweep, leaving the woodstove area and clean out full of debris instead of vacuuming it clean when it was done, and avoiding cleaning the interior near the top of the chimney because he didn’t want to get out his ladder (was done w/a flexible brush from bottom that wasn’t long enough to clean the whole length of chimney), we were told our chimney had a crack in the liner and that it had experienced a chimney fire. He encouraged us to go through our insurance provider to get them to pay for the balance of about $7K in liner replacement costs. The photos shown to us didn’t depict a crack as was mentioned but rather a surface scrape. There were a few red flags in the stated analysis. We opted to get another opinion and thankfully so. The chimney inspection we got done from another company included a sweep and covered every square inch with bright vivid photography and hours of labor to ensure all was analyzed accurately. We were given a clean bill of health by this second company we used and they said it was clear we were being misled by Charlie’s. Stay away.
