A perfect 5.0 across 689 Google ratings is the first thing you notice about Chimcare Boston. The Better Business Bureau's F grade is the second. Both are true at once, and anyone deciding whether to call should hold them together. The work customers describe is consistent and specific: water getting in where the chimney meets the roof. Flashing reinstalled, storm collars swapped for a better fit, a cricket added to push water aside, a drip edge fitted to stop staining on the brick, a corroded chase cover replaced. Rebuilds are the other half — roofline-up rebuilds after loose bricks and soft mortar, crowns rebuilt where freeze-thaw took chunks out of the edges, brick matched to the rest of the house. Named technicians recur — Dan, Michael, William, Luke, Jackson — and the compliment that repeats is explanation: what's wrong, what it takes to fix, what the quote covers. In April 2026 a landlord had four flues inspected and cleaned before a tenant moved in, found damage in all four, and had them repaired and sealed on short notice. That same month another customer needed a chimney to pass inspection before a house closing, and it passed on the second look. Now the other side. The BBB grades the company F and lists three complaints on file. In November 2025 a customer wrote that they questioned the technician's work as soon as he left, then needed three phone calls, a text and an email before a manager rang back; a re-inspection was booked four days out and nobody came during the window. The company refunded what they had paid, and the customer said they would bring in another firm to check the work. One more thing about the reviews themselves. A five-star review published on the business's Google profile opens with the word "OUTPUT" and closes with a word count and a tone label — the leftovers of text generated to order rather than written by a customer. Several others work the phrase "in Boston, MA" into sentences the way marketing copy does, not the way people write. None of that makes the underlying work bad, but it means a 5.0 average carries less weight here than its size suggests. For chimney leaks, crown and mortar repair, and roofline rebuilds they cover the right ground and move quickly. Get the scope and price in writing before they start, keep your own copy of the inspection findings, and go in knowing that if something needs revisiting you may have to chase a manager to get it booked.
Dan was exceptionally professional and knowledgeable! A very happy customer!
We had both of our chimneys inspected today, and the experience was outstanding. Aidan provided exceptional service, explained everything in detail, and made sure we understood every part of the inspection. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and very responsible throughout the entire visit. We truly appreciate his honesty and excellent customer service. I highly recommend Aidan to anyone looking for a thorough and reliable chimney inspection!
Michael from chimcare was professional, came on time and did great work. A 1720 house wasn’t easy and their crew that installed the cap and replaced the old flue were quick and cleaned up.
Nice finish. Dan did a great job, explained all of it and did the work accordingly. Thanks Dan!
Your team did an amazing job. Hard working crew who made everything look beautiful. Very pleased with this chimney rebuild!
