Ciardelli handles fuel deliveries as well as heating and cooling installations, and customers describe both successful emergency calls and disputes over service and charges. Based in Milford, the company says it is a third-generation family business operating since 1957, with five New Hampshire offices serving southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. Its New Hampshire Mechanical Business Entity licence is active. A July 2026 Google reviewer described having an oil burner and tank removed and a Rinnai tankless water heater installed. The customer said Jeff Brown provided a quote within about a week of the initial visit, answered follow-up questions and offered competitive pricing, particularly for the removal work. The crew arrived as scheduled, worked through rain over two days, and the customer was happy with the result. A June 2026 reviewer said Matt came out during a weekend emergency and got the system running again. Older accounts describe additional equipment work. An April 2024 reviewer praised mini-split air-conditioning installation and two propane tanks for pool heating and cooking. A March 2024 customer described routine air-conditioning and furnace service, followed by thermostat repairs; when a different problem arose hours later, another technician fixed it without a further charge. In a March 2025 Reddit thread, a commenter said Ciardelli had never let them down and had serviced their furnace for the last five years. The company advertises 24-hour emergency service, but a February 2026 reviewer reported being refused an overnight delivery after returning home to no heat, saying the company judged the situation non-emergency. In a December 2025 review, a long-standing customer described an empty tank, an unsuccessful thermocouple replacement and a disputed service fee. A September 2025 reviewer alleged that an account had been locked without notice and that a full tank and the customer’s cement pad were removed without reimbursement. A February 2025 reviewer alleged repeated short deliveries and higher prices. These are the customers’ accounts. A June 2026 reviewer complained about propane buyback rules and a fee for low annual use, then said a refund was obtained only after pressing customer service. The Union Leader has also reported on fuel charges adding to a customer’s expenses. Ciardelli has an A+ BBB grade; a BBB reviewer nevertheless expressed dissatisfaction with work quality and the company’s response to problems.

About six weeks ago, Ciardelli took out my oil burner and oil tank, and installed a Rinnai tankless hot water heater. (I have a heat pump for air heating and cooling.) I had the water heater installed with two options so I could start creating and circulating hot water before I opened a faucet. At the beginning of my project, I contacted Ciardelli for a quote. After a short visit and discussion by Jeff Brown, I had a quote within about a week. Since I also had a quote from a plumbing company for a Rinnai installation, Ciardelli's quote was competitive, especially with regard to the removal of the oil burner and oil tank. Jeff was very responsive and helpful with regard to questions I sent him after the initial site visit, so that helped me to choose Ciardelli. I also had site visits from two other propane companies in Keene, but neither produced quotes despite saying they would. The Ciardelli crew showed up on the date and time as projected, and did a great job. It was raining both days they were here, so somewhat damp conditions to work under, but I'm very happy with the outcome. I feel confident that should I need their support/service in the future, they'll be there for me!

This company will NOT buy back the propane in your tank if you cancel your service. That’s just wrong, and horrible customer service. They also charge you a fee if you don’t buy enough propane every year, either. We switched to Buxton Oil and they not only DON’T charge an annual fee, but they will buy back any propane we don’t use, should we get rid of our propane fireplace. Now THAT’S a good company. I’d suggest going with Buxton, personally. ciardelli is all about the money, and doesn’t care about their customers. To respond to the company’s response: I had about 22% of propane in my tank when I asked for a refund. It was only when I pressed the issue with your CS team did I get my refund. You told me you did NOT refund propane as it was your policy not to… ever. So… your response is misleading.
Called over the weekend for an emergency that another oil company was responsible for! Matt himself came out and got us back up and running!! Called this morning to set up our account, he had us already all set up - now, that’s customer service!
