Citation Property Services is a small masonry and property-services outfit working out of 9 Gordon Rd in North Reading, Massachusetts. The Better Business Bureau lists it as a mason contractor and grades it A+, and almost every review names the owner, Alex, who quotes the job and is on site for it. The masonry is the core: reviewers describe repointed basements and chimneys, brick front steps, paver patios and walkways, poured concrete slabs and driveways, and retaining walls. A March 2026 reviewer whose family runs a concrete company back home said the driveway came through the winter crack-free, and an October 2025 customer described an 18-by-24 slab excavated, prepped and poured to the timeline agreed at the start. Around that core the same crew does landscape and yard work — design and planting, mulch beds, grading and seeding, fall clean-ups and leaf removal — and reviewers repeatedly hire them for both. A November 2024 customer on their second season of leaf removal said Alex is not happy until every leaf and stick is picked up. What comes up again and again is speed of response and honesty about scope. A June 2025 reviewer said Alex inspected their chimney and told them it could wait, while other companies were quoting $6,000 to $9,000; a March 2024 reviewer with a 1760 fieldstone foundation said Citation looked it over and concluded no work was needed, saving them more than $10,000. Several reviewers were fitted in during the busy season or scheduled within days. The one thing worth asking about is work outside the masonry and grounds core. A July 2025 reviewer hired them for interior carpentry and painting — baseboards, crown moulding and wall painting — and said the carpentry was half decent with details that did not line up, and the painting was poor. If the job is trim, paint or interior finish work rather than stone, concrete or yard work, ask specifically who on the crew does it and see that trade's own examples.
