Clean Sweep Chimney Service

Clean Sweep Chimney Service is a small Cape chimney-sweep outfit working the Harwich area, and the reviews on file split between two very different visits. Most describe Tom (and a partner) doing careful, complete work: in an October 2025 review, a customer said he came the same day they called, spent real time getting a wood stove insert and chimney clean, and even fixed a loose, uneven surround while he was there. A January 2025 review from a repeat customer called the service professional and prompt, and said Tom found and cleaned three separate flues, including a furnace flue that had been a mess. Older reviews from 2021 and 2022 describe a thorough inspection and sweep and call the crew courteous. One visit reads very differently. In a May 2025 review, a customer said a technician identified as Tom Jr. was in the house under 45 minutes with a brush for a gas insert fireplace, never got on the roof, and charged $300 — a sharp contrast with the thoroughness other reviewers describe. Around the same time, a Nextdoor post from a Harwich resident asked for help reaching the company after voicemails went unreturned; a few months later, another neighbor on Nextdoor called it the best in Harwich Port. Worth asking before booking: who's actually coming out for the job, and what the visit covers — whether that includes getting on the roof, since one customer's experience suggests it isn't automatic. For routine chimney and wood-stove cleaning on the Cape, most of what customers describe here is solid work, but the sample is thin — five written reviews — so it's worth weighing that one rushed, overpriced visit before booking.
