COD Discount Fuel sells heating oil delivery, and its website calls the company Cape Cod's go-to for heating oil and pricing. A 2025 customer said their first fill, ordered through the company's app, came a few days later after the tank was inspected. That 2025 customer said the app later would not let them request a refill, a Friday delivery booked by phone never showed up, and the answering service said it could only take a message. A 2024 customer said the company had always been kind and courteous to them and praised its #2 heating oil price.

Working with COD started out great. Downloaded the app for a fill of our oil tank and they came a few days later after inspecting the tank. Great first experience. After that, I would never use them again. The app was not allowing me to request a refill. I submitted an online request for help and to fill my tank. No one got back to me after 3 days I called. I spoke with Karen and she helped me book for that Friday. Friday came and no one showed up. I called to ask if someone could come and I got their answering service. The woman who answered was rude, dismissive, unprofessional and needs to leave this role because she clearly does not care. I asked about the order I placed and she disregarded that and took down my information like I was a new customer. I explained I wasn’t and asked if someone would come fill the tank today and if not, would it be this weekend or Monday. Her response was “I don’t know but we will see. If no one shows up call back in an hour and a half.” This is at 5 PM. I say okay, wait, no one shows up so I call back at 6:30. I speak with the same woman and she pretends like she doesn’t know who I am or what I am talking about. I ask if she got in contact with anyone and after a clear sigh on the phone, she says “all I can do is take a message would you like to do that?”. Of course I said no because what good does that do me. There are multiple other oil companies around I will be working with moving forward because this experience is unacceptable. I don’t understand why someone is being paid to take messages when you could have a voicemail box that does the exact same thing but without the attitude. If you need oil once and not in a hurry, maybe give COD a call but keep your expectations low because they don’t want to actually help.
They have always been kind & courteous to me. Plus have the best price on diesel/gal by far! Sorry meant to say #2 heating oil -not diesel!
