I just spoke with the rudest representative. I recently took over managing my mother’s finances because she has Alzheimer’s dementia. Her longtime oil company, Arlex Oil, which she had trusted for over 20 years, recently closed. I was calling simply to ask about the oil cap program, automatic payments, and automatic delivery because I’m looking for a dependable company to care for my mother’s heating needs so I don’t have to worry about her during the winter. Before I could even explain my situation or what I was looking for, I was told that they only do that for current customers and that I could not become a customer because they “don’t take people who oil hop around looking for prices every year.” That couldn’t be further from the truth. I wasn’t shopping around for the cheapest price. I was looking for a trustworthy, reliable company with fair pricing that I could depend on for my elderly mother for years to come. The representative made assumptions without listening, showed no compassion for my situation, and lost what could have been a long-term customer.

Murphy Fuel did a great job installing our mini split system last fall. Terry and the team were professional, responsive, and kept everything on schedule from start to finish. Our setup was large and had a complicated layout, but they handled it without any issues. During the estimate and planning phase, Terry was especially accommodating—he took the time to walk through options with us and was flexible when we decided to change the originally planned locations. That level of patience and willingness to adapt really stood out. After the installation, they even came back to make sure everything was working properly, which we really appreciated. Overall, a smooth experience and a team that clearly cares about doing things right. Would definitely recommend.
