Commonwealth Roofing and Siding

Commonwealth Roofing and Siding is an Andover company that turned a rough winter into its calling card — when ice dams backed up onto roofs across the North Shore in early 2026, reviewer after reviewer describes a crew showing up within hours with a steam-based process built to melt the ice without damaging the roof underneath. That kind of fast, technical response runs through the company's reviews well beyond ice season. The company, which describes itself as family-owned with women-owned and veteran-owned ownership, holds an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and covers roofing, siding, gutters, and window work across Andover, the North Shore, and Greater Boston. Reviewers named Alex, Greg, Gustavo, and Kevin come up again and again for the same things: clear communication through every step, accurate quotes with no surprise costs, and jobs finished fast — full roof replacements done in a single day show up repeatedly, including one where a dumpster was delivered, the roof stripped and replaced, and the dumpster hauled away all within three days. The range of work goes beyond a standard reroof. One customer had Commonwealth coordinate a rubber roof and roof-deck replacement on a Southie triple-decker alongside an HVAC swap; another managed an entire project from 3,000 miles away and called out the crew's integrity working with someone who was never on-site. On an older building, the company was the only one of four bidders willing to quote a small but complicated section of roof fairly. And in one case from 2024, the crew didn't just fix a failing roof — they diagnosed why the previous installation had failed, tracing it to the wrong nails used on the base layer. There isn't much to flag going in. The written history here — 70 reviews from 2024 through 2026 — doesn't surface a single complaint, and activity has stayed steady and recent, with eleven new reviews in just the past six months. Commonwealth is a strong option for a straightforward roof or siding job, an emergency like an active leak or ice dam, or a more complex project that needs real coordination — a multi-trade job, an absentee owner, or an older building with unusual conditions.
